Is it not hypocritical of the WTB&TS to acknowledge women can be a part of the 144000 annointed ones to rule with Christ ,yet deny them a place on the Governing Body ?

If Jehovah and Jesus see fit to allow women to be a part of the ruling elite in heaven for a thousand years , who are the G.B.to deny them that privelidge on earth ? The basis of family life since Adam & Eve is the complimentary balance of male and female input ,so shouldnt that rule also apply to the governing of a christian congregation ?

there was, in simpler times a strict division of gender specific roles, with all species that have successfully evolved.

Those rules for roles were written into the scriptures , as in the NT !Cor.14:33-38, I Tim 2: 11-15.

Bible based religions are stuck with that, but have sidestepped to varying degrees some of these stark/ dark age instructions. .

With the bible discredited as a factual history, inspired guide,

the superior capabilities of woman should now fully come to the fore.

as to the prospect of good woman personalities ruling the cosmos WELL as part of the 144 000. ?

That is one promess that is believable, even if all the other promesses are not.

    for what its worth.

At the 2006 (If I remember correctly) DC there was a 19 minute part that included some (not much) discussion on how women of the F&DS (which was viewed as any of 144,000 then) 'gave out food at the proper time.' The reasoning was that they did this on a personal level at their respective congregations.

It was more of a non-answer, since women not of the 144,000 did exactly the same. But I guess it helped dispel any who were wondering about that.

You make a great point Smiddy !

The WT will argue that they pattern themselves as the earthly part of God's org on the 1st century congregation and will say women were not used in any capacity. What happens later in heaven is different they will say, because gender will be gone. (What?)

They are then in the awkward position of having to wriggle like crazy to try to explain away where Paul calls Phoebe of Chenchreae a "diakonos" , deacon,or in Dubspeak Ministerial Servant, of the congregation.

I envisage her as being very like the "Vicar of Dibley" if you have ever seen that British TV comedy.

That's so weird, I was thinking that exact thing a couple of days ago. Along with wondering why they don't allow sisters to take the lead in anything, based on the scripture that says women should be silent, but still allow them to answer up, give 'talks' and go on the ministry? Coz that's not being silent at all and is still teaching!

Sorry if that's not related to your point, feel free to ignore it if you feel I'm hi-jacking the thread.

    Peace to all x

All of the Christian denominations went by Jesus choosing 12 men for apostleship and that kept women 2nd class. Only a few Denominations have broken from tradition. Catholics are behind the times, Wt. behind the times.

There is a period where you think- with more reformation christianity will get the kinks worked out. Eventually you realize what a waste reform is and start your life Religion Free.

Wow, good point! I never thought of that aspect of the new teaching about the GB being the faithful & discreet slave. It seems ridiculous.

I think it unusal that women can be of the 144000, since as you mention, they have few rights on earth. Also Revelation 14:4 saying the 144,000 have not defiled themselves with women, indicating they are men.

    Acts 2

17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
    and they will prophesy.

    Shalom
