Read Richard Friedman, Who wrote the Bible.
Its amazing how the stories you thought you knew actually have very different meanings. Particularly all the really early stuff in Moses (so called) writings. Once you read it you realise that the Jews were exactly like their pagan cousins the Canaanites. Tehe story of a single God is utter crap.
