I was at the meeting... kept nodding off... can't for the life of me think why....
Anyway... hubby pulled out an elder letter which I looked over as he had it out. It was all about elders calling on inactive ones with the invite to the memorial, arranging lifts for them etc.... I just thought to myself about all you faders out there.... be prepared!! Elders will be calling soon!
Likely they are being bouyed for a truckload of so called "persecution" - full length documentary feature on JW's, exposure of sexual abuse, condoning/tolerating pedofilia in the congregation, etc. All of this wrapped and packaged as satan's all out attack and a prelude to the great tribulation.
The whole magazine is just another do more for us and less for yourself. Don't earn money, go to college or associate with your df'd kids

Yes Jehovah is with you, you single older JW ladies who don't get invited out much, and you victims of JW pedophiles who should just hang in there best as you can, those of you who were promised that the end would come many decades ago but it didn't quite work out, and you children of JW parents who are isolated from the rest of your schoolmates because of rules we created.
Your organization isn't with you, you're all just a number to us. But in some mystical, inconceivable way, Jehovah is with you. Or at least we're counting on convincing you into believing that - so that maybe we can count on you to keep laboring for us.
Next week's article is better. It starts by giving the illusion that JWs have choices in life thereby having a degree of control. But then it proceeds to "walk the congregation" through those choices, in each instance utilizing the logical fallacy of a False Dilemma to manipulate and control the flock:

Good points there DATA-DOG. Skimmed the new WT myself today and I agree its all about "keeping them in". The numbers must be getting worse when it comes to meeting attendance. No wonder, its the same shit, different day.
Next weeks is particularly disgusting. Not only is that stupid picture of the JWs playing Cricket or whatever on the beach shown, the disgusting shunning policy is reiterated, with harsh language pointed at those active JWs who might commit the sin of e-mailing their disfellowshipped family.
