Bobby Rogers, along with cousin Claudette (wife of Smokey Robinson), Pete Moore, Ronnie White and Smokey Robinson formed The Miracles in 1959 and had their first hits with 'Bad Girl' and the first Motown #1 hit with 'Shop Around'. The Miracles became world famous for Ooo Baby Baby, Tracks Of My Tears, You've Really Got A Hold On Me among many others.

Bobby wrote as well as sang and choreographed for The Miracles, Temptations, Mary Wells, Marvin Gaye, and the Marvelettes (he was married to Marvelettes lead singer Wanda Young). Going To A Go Go, Ain't That Peculiar, The Way You Do The Things You Do, My Baby, What Love Has Joined Together are some of the songs he authored and co-wrote.

Every summer in the 60s the Motown Review would come to Los Angeles.

Smokey and the Miracles were among the best Motown gave to us. RIP Bobby.

I am glad Smokey is still active. I just saw him on the cable-TV show "Life from Daryl's House" with Daryl Hall.

The Miracles performing Tracks Of My Tears, Bobby was distinctive being a head taller than the other members and his horn rimmed glasses were a trade mark.

One of my early favorites is What's So Good About Goodbye, teenage angst at its most painful. Claudette singing backup with the guys and Marv Tarplin's guitar work leading and closing this classic.

Imagine how much less fun life would have been if these folks would have never met each other or hadn't been determined enough to make sure their music got heard. Glad they came along and hopefully Mr. Rogers had a good life and a lot of fun being an entertainer.

Bob Dylan in admiration said Smokey Robinson was America's greatest living poet- The Love I Saw In You Was Just a Mirage is great story telling in song.

In the late 60s there were tons of JW Parties every weekend in Los Angeles and Orange County. The scariest part, other than the breakneck speed we drove to get to the Parties, was asking that cute girl for a slow dance to The Miracles Ooo Baby Baby.

While reading this and seeing allthe clips you posted above, I'm watching Hullabaloo on PBS, I wonder if this if going to be a weekly thing or they're just gone burn the Hell out of this one show. That's my era, although I was just in grammar school in the 60's (and aspired to be go-go dancer) about 90 percent of music I llisten to is from this era, as well as the TV shows I watch on Antenna and MeTV

Shirley- Do you have your official white patent leather Go-Go Boots. Such a fun era for music, the Motown Reviews would get so wild they would shut the shows down early, The Four Tops caused a riot at one my pioneer buddy and I attended.

    Shirley, this is for you-
