I love the books, reread them every few years. What a sense of humor he had. The last book wasn't as funny/witty/sharp, though. I wonder if he was feeling ill when he wrote it? He died awfully young.

Shortly before he died he wrote that he had been fairly down in the dumps while writing the last two books in the "trilogy" of five, and acknowledged that they weren't very upbeat as a result. He was hoping to get back to writing in his more carefree style.

I've already told my wife, I want "SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH" as my epitaph with a couple of dolphins frolicking at the top of my headstone.

I was glad that Google honored him yesterday. Played along time on screen. Anyway it was sad that Douglas Adams did not live longer.

I've been thinking about reading 'Hitchhiker's Guide'. I thought the movie was weird--though that opening song was spectacular. I think my wife tried to watch it once but mysteriously stopped at some point. I can't remember what would've made her turn it off, but practically anything that pings the JW conscience might. So...I'll have to watch it again to see if I can figure it out one day...but maybe I'll get around to reading the books too.

The radio show was awesome so much better than the films. If you can get to listen to them they are a real treat.

He lived with his family in my fair city. Went to the gym and dropped dead while working out.

I love his books, but I am angry because he died too soon.

I hope someone says that about me, in about 50 years...

That is my favorite book title of all time. Better even than my other favorite: Dwarf Rapes Nun, Flees in UFO!
