Posting from the meeting. This is horrible. Everyone is so down and talking about how sad and bad we all are. I guess that means that we need to go out in service tons to make up for it. Sheesh.

Exactly what the GB is trying to achieve...

The whole WT system is fueled by guilt and fear.

If it were so important, the stones would be crying out. But they're not.

Billy, I'm right there with you. If I knew the world would last this long I would have made a lot of different decisions.

I was overwhelmed with regret when I accepted that the Jehovah's Witnesses religion is led by a bunch of ordinary men that are making it up along the way. Yes, I'm over it now. So over it!

And all those unmarried JWs, most them want to be married or wish they had married. All those childless couples, many of the ones I know wish they had children. All those JWs that didn't go to school, many of them went back as older adults or are going back and are getting advanced degrees.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard Witnesses say "If I knew the system would last this long, I would have..."

In paragraphs 15 & 16, the message of "be assured you did the right thing by forgoing the normal progressions of life to serve to Jehovah" is nothing more than a tactic to get folks to think they will receive extra blessings in the "New World". I've even heard JWs say things along those lines. Why the need to reinforce that message? Because JWs are starting to wake-up but many are immobilized by fear and the GB is going to continue to hold out that golden carrot until it becomes the reason they fall. When people have access to information you can only hold them back for so long.

    Thanks Blondie...

They are evil, the POS writers of this dribble need to be put down like any rabid dog affected with rabies! This is a contagious and fatal article that that will act like a virus to unsuspecting readers.

History shows what I said to be absolutely true! I will continue to put effort to help bring this to the light. No one has the right to control another persons thoughts!

Comotose....posting from the meeting ! I would love to do that........ah! technology (sigh)

The first paragraphs are basic pop psychology about not harboring regrets about the past...What is done is done, move on....We must come to that too. It is no good beating ourselves up over those "long and wasted years" that we spent serving The Borg in the mistaken belief that we were doing God's will.

Paragraphs 15/16 though are a gross manipulation of that principle.. "If you made sacrifices to "serve Jehovah" ....should you regret those decisions now as you grow older?"....The unwritten words should be 'as our promises failed'

"You need not think that you would have been better off had you lived your life differently"..Why? because God will not forget you, they say . The real life is yet to come ....Oh yes?????

I created a hypothetical....two family sisters . In their youth one does it all and Pioneers and remains single. Her sister does little as a youth but marries a decent Witness lad. He provides well, they have a good life, children , holidays etc... In later life she is now an elders wife with a big house grandchildren, cars.

The other sister has little, lives alone in subsidised acommodation, travels by bus . She is "Aunty' to the children but wishes she had her own. Does today's study really help her? After all, they both expect to get everlasting life ...What has been the point of her sacrifice? No doubt she will dispel negative thoughts and try to take comfort in "the deep satisfaction of doing what you knew to be right"...but in reality , she has been 'stitched up' by the WTS to spend a lifetime peddling their message on the false promise of a New World that was tantalizingly always very near but ever so far............

Yes..I think paragraph 16 is remarkable. Why did they write that paragraph if not a lot of people in the congregations are bitter and have regrets? The big A cannot be just some months away decade after decade.

I love the contradiction between paragraphs 8 & 14. On one hand Christ's sacrifice provides a ransom giving us a release from our debt related to sin. At least it did for Paul, and David was spoken of in a positive light in this same article. Then there's paragraph 14 where it insinuates that if you haven't become or reached out to become a pioneer, elder, or ministerial servant, well your baptism is pretty much, invalid, because you're likely to be destroyed during the great tribulation or Armageddon. So Christ's sacrifice covers David's conspiracy to have a man murdered, and his adulery. Christ's sacrifice covers Paul's actions prior to becoming a Christian which included persecution, wrongfully inprisoning innocent people, and likely murdering some early Christians.

You on the other hand, those of you that didnt pioneer, or become elders, or ministerial servants, all of you are toast. You pretty much sinned against the Holy Spirit. Been better if none of you halfsteppers were ever born. Articles like this remind me of warnings to avoid the mentality of "let us eat and drink for tomorrow we are to die." In this case it holds true, you are going to die because you didnt give your all, as defined by the faithful and discreet slave. After this lesson one cant help but wonder if Jehovah is "keeping account of transgressions", and if that's the case "who can stand?" Certainly not those who didn't obtain a title in the congregation. Articles like this are why 78 year old women feel obligated to auxiliary pioneer only to almost lose their life in field service after being mauled by a pitbull.
