Haha, we never had any interesting families like yours in my home congregation. Nobody made any waves, it was boring.
Flipping out at the meeting

cobaltcupcake: Toward the end of my association I used to get up and leave when the BS got too deep.
This.
At my last circuit assembly they started in with the "god hates fags" lingo within the first five minutes of the program. I stood up and said, "I'm not going to sit here and listen to this shit!" (in a normal speaking voice), and drove the two hours back home.
I went to a half dozen Sunday meetings at the kingdom hall after that and walked out of the last one because of something the speaker said. As I stood up I said, (loud enough to be heard) "That is NOT what the bible teaches."
My DA letter followed soon after.

Has anyone else felt this way?
Yes. I was in your shoes. It is not fun. I am not sure it will work out for you like it did for me, but lets just say I am very happy now.

I haven't gotten angry at the meeting yet. I've been tuning out pretty much anything people around me are saying since childhood, so I hardly even notice what's happening at the meeting. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Yeah, we tell it like it is!
You're no angel either Sweetie. Even tho it wasn't your fault, I remember you ruining the brand new, light gray carpet in the KH while I was doing closing prayer, you started puking and made a nice trail all the way to the back bathroom. They never could get that stain out. Carpet had to be replaced.
Now I know MOST of you are sitting there saying to yourself, "Who in the world are these people?"
Believe me, we're not even scratching the surface yet. No wonder our family are all looney tunes.

Just wanted to throw my hat in here. I too have come close to losing it at times. Ultimately it is why I stopped attending Satan's lair with my wife. It would eat me up so bad that I would make her uncomfortable and occassionally ruin the day because when it was over I really had to vent and we would get into it.

F —ing hell Brother of the Hawk, that was amazing!
I am glad the sisters applauded you! It serves the elders well for not listening to them.
Congrats!

There comes a point where you simply have to get out, damn the costs.
Most fear the worst, it usually ain't that bad. Just leave, you will find that some of your family will still talk to you, the "friends" will not. Who cares?
Your health is not worth this cult.

LOL!! 3rd gens last meeting was at the C.O.s visit. She exclaimed "I can't believe this" during some weird child beating experience the old coot was relating..and she marched out..never to return.

Yes. Many times and then it got too much for me to carry on - and mid announcement that I wouldn't be giving the talk I was supposed too, I got up and walked out - and when asked by the door attendent if I was okay, very loudly said "Very okay, I'm leaving" or something like that.
There were times I was called to the back of the hall by the elders so they could voice their concern about my laughter or hair or some other insignificant thing and I would very loudly (out of serious frustration) tell them they were over reacting.
