Orthodox jews started Passover Monday evening at sunset. I never met an Orthodox Jew who was bad at math.
Why a day behind Passover? Weren't the apostles celebrating Passover?

The problem this year is (unless I'm really missing something) they are celebrating a day late rather than a day early. They're actually observing it on Nisan 16. Nisan 1 (new moon) was March 11. Eleven plus 14 is 26). They observing the 15th day which is the 16th after sundown.
They've always been a day early. I'm baffled as to why this year they calculate it a day later than Passover when all calendars show the new moon was March 11. I kind of understood the day early--even though I realized their miscalculation for the 13th day. But this day late calculation has me baffled.

Now you have me confused (well not really). I've been calculating it and comparing it to WTism for many years.
Jews always observe Passover on Nisan 14/15. It just happened to fall on Monday with sundown ushering in the 15th (Passover) this particualr year.

"Appropriately, there was also a full moon on Thursday, March 27, 1975."
Isn't it great that they deem the moon to be behaving appropriately...

Thanks a lot BluesBrother, for the Watchtower quote, I was confused as well. Oh Lord, the whole world counted 14 Nisan to be on Monday 25 March but the GB knew better! They know better than the Jews themselves!
