Governing Body admonish all their members to be humble christians repeatedly almost to the point of verbal beatings to keep them in line with the corporation and humbly do the work they are asigned. They will use this scripture to examine whether or not a brother qualifies for being used as an elder:

2Tim. 2:24"But a Servant of our Lord ought not to fight, but to be humble toward every person, instructive and long-suffering,"

Does it not also apply tothe Governing Body as well? I wonder if the GB uses this scripture in appointing a rank and file to the office of Governing Body CEO. I bet this scripture is not even mentioned when discussing a rank and file hopeful.

The Governing Body will disfellowshipping any member on the grounds that they have a different idea about what a scripture means is anything but humble and long-suffering, and hardly is it conclusive to being qualified to instruct with mildness. In fact they miss following 2Tim 2:24 by a long shot, not even in the ball park.

2Tim 2: 24 The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

Looks like the Lord's Slave is not teaching properly the rank and file. I guess humility is something only applied to the rank and file under their control, they the controllers are exempt.

I think the Governing Body's recent grab for more power by claiming only they are the F&DS and excluding all other claimits to the heavenly calling is an direct indication that they are suffering from a self exaulting delusional disorder, which would not be conducive to being humble servants of the lord. Definately power has gone to their head and this new Governing Body is even less humble than those that preceeded them and who are now deceased.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humility

Humility is defined as, "A quality by which a person considering his own defects has a humble opinion of himself and willingly submits himself to God and to others for God's sake." St. Bernard defines it as, "A virtue by which a man knowing himself as he truly is, abases himself.

Humility is said to be a fit recipient of grace; according to the words of St. James, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" ( Proverbs 3:34 , 1Peter 5:5 , James 4:6 ). [ 3 ]

    1. Submitting to God and legitimate authority
    2. Recognizing virtues and talents that others possess, particularly those that surpass one's own, and giving due honor and, when required, obedience
    3. Recognizing the limits of one's talents, ability, or authority; and, not reaching for what is beyond one's grasp

Amongst the benefits of humility described in the Bible are honor, wisdom, eternal life, unity , rewards in heaven and others. In the Bible, an exhortation to humility is found in Philippians 2:1-17 .

Also in 1Peter 2:23 , concerning Jesus Christ's behavior in general and submission to unjust torture and execution in particular: "Who, when he was reviled, did not revile: when he suffered, he threatened not: but delivered himself to him that judged him justly."

And let's not forget the false humilty of Anthony Morris the Third when he quipped about being just an shoemaker while at the same time telling people that they have to wear his shoe if it fits(and no telling with this guy how hard he will squeeze it on to make it fit either). The audience got the point he was Governing Body and nobody should argue with him about shoe sizes if he says it fits, it fits, case closed you gotta wear it.

And what about David Splane? Does he sound humble or does he sound like a con man pushing an idea of Governing Body superiority an idea he claims the Governing Body unamiously loves and get this: because it truley truley does dignifies the Great Crowd(while knocking down the annointed a peg or two).

I guess it was, for lack of any palatable superlatives(without setting off too many bullshit detecters in the worldwide indoctrinated brotherhood) he could produce anything else but that lame statement to garnish the new Governing Body inspired teaching of Who's got the power from God to rule over the rank and file and tell them what to do with their time and money.

Would Jesus endorse the Governing Body as the humble CEOs of a Corporation designed to make money selling literature and making false predictions of when he is to return? They made tons of money off of this religious scam and they are not humble they are spin doctors who run a corporation and nothing more.

    February 15, 1994 Watchtower, "Cults--What Are They?", p. 4:

Their devotion to a self-proclaimed human leader is likely to be unconditional and exclusive. Often these leaders boast of having been divinely chosen or even of being themselves divine in nature.

    And

    *** w01 4/15 p. 29 Do You Remember? ***

While directors of a legal corporation are voted into office by its members, the Governing Body is not

appointed by any man but is appointed by Jesus Christ.

Stephen Lett has an extraordinary fear of strangers(xenophobia). Instead of being reasonable and humbly acknowleging that some may have legitimate ideas that don't conform to the teachings of the Governing Body he arrogantly projects his own distorted xenophobic fears on those that disagree with teachings.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenophobia

Xenophobia can manifest itself in many ways involving the relations and perceptions of an ingroup towards an outgroup, including a fear of losing identity, suspicion of its activities, aggression, and desire to eliminate its presence to secure a presumed purity. [ 4 ] Xenophobia can also be exhibited in the form of an "uncritical exaltation of another culture" in which a culture is ascribed "an unreal, stereotyped and exotic quality". [ 5 ] Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action urges all governments to take immediate measures and to develop strong policies to prevent and combat all forms and manifestations of racism, xenophobia or related intolerance, where necessary by enactment of appropriate legislation including penal measure. [ 6 ] Nevertheless, some governments still recognize the value of nationalism.

Theodore Jaracz Humble Governing Body member? Hardly listen to the way he blows this BBC reporter off about the question of the Governing Body keeping a data base of thousands of pedofiles scattered through the ranks of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Not very nice and not very humble it is clear to see.

I'd be blushing if anybody viewed me as being part of the "faithful and discreet slave." For as many times as that phrase is mentioned throughout the year whether in the magazines, prayers, comments, discussions with fellow dubs, etc., it would be a bit much to handle if you're humble and they're referencing you. Can you imagine being at a meeting and someone either via prayer, or in a comment, gives you praise? While you're in attendance? Or after the meeting they're asking for a picture to be taken with you? Or dinner on them? As it stands now I hate it when meeting someone new in Da Troof and they start their conversation with what can be likened to a theocratic job interview giving you a rundown of their spiritual qualifications and then they expect you to do the same. I imagine with a GB member it's even worse. I find it hard to imagine any of them being humble. Partaking at the memorial says volumes about someone's personality makeup.

    Theo,

It ain't easy being one of these guys but in their case the perks out weight the the negatives it all depends on the personality type. But first and fore most you gotta be delusionally oriented, and maybe suffer from some low self esteam issues from childhood.
