So, are we supposed to believe that this was a genuine accident? Because it sure doesn't look like one.
It doesn't make sense to me that it was merely the result of enthusiasm.....Sab

The Theft of the AWAA Name and Logo was No Accident..

The "Bogus AWAA Fan Page" was No Accident..

It was done by someone from the Christian Witnesses Group..

They are not from the AWAA..

The AWAA had no knowledge of the "Bogus AWAA Fan Page"..

Until complaints were posted about it here on JWN..

    Seriously..

If I stole Your Identity and Caused a lot of People,a lot of Grief...

Would it be Reasonable to Blame You for it?..

    Hey ((Wuz!))..

    Thanks!..

Sorry...my fault..it was not a bogus fanpage, but a bogus group! Did I get it right, Cedars?

Almost, it was a bogus fan group, not a bogus "page." Like OUTLAW, I'm not as familiar with the workings of facebook as others, but I can see for myself already that there is a big difference between pages and groups. The point is, we were devastated to hear that people were being put at risk in our name (given what we stand for), but there was little we could do about it if someone took it upon themselves to steal our logo and pretend to be us. Once we found out about it we told them to take the logo down and they did, but by then the damage was done.

Anyway, that's all I really have to say about the matter. I shouldn't really be posting on behalf of AAWA, but I think it's important to clear things up, and I thank OUTLAW for getting to the bottom of it when few seemed inclined to.

Glad it's been cleared up ... if it's the same group that are all over yahoo then they are a bunch of spammy bastards who have zero respect.

Just for the record, there is no facebook page or group setup for THIS site so anything that claims to be should be treated as suspicious too.

" Someone from the Christian Witnesses group..
(I've been asked not to name anyone involved, although I do know who they are..)

Took it upon himself to take the AWAA Name,Logo and start a AWAA Fan Page..

Then just start adding or referring everyone in his group.

He took it upon himself to simply add everyone in his friends and readers lists.
(Quite a large and diverse membership)"

If this is the case those people must be real nutheads.

So, I hope a lot of people here will be careful having contact with those "Christian witnesses". As someone stated in the other thread......there is a certain place in hell for those who are outing X-JW's. I do really hope that those "christian witnesses" does believe in hell.....and that they are expecting an extra hot spot in the fire for themselves.

Anyhow..this might be a good lesson. If you are starting an organisation for for exposing the WTS.......learn lesson No 1......be quiet about it!

Of course not, I wasn't blaming AAWA I was blaming the person who did it. It seemed like a malicious act towards AAWA to me. I can't see anyone but the Watchtower acting this way towards AAWA. I am interested in cataloging the ways in which the Watchtower retaliate against opposition. Ever since Steven Unthank's paypal account was mysteriously deactivated I have been trying to figure out what the WT policies are on retaliation. It's something we all should concern ourselves with. If you know an attack is coming, you can prepare for it. The Watchtower seems to operate through moles carefully placed behind enemy lines to be called to action at opportune times.

How can we find out who the person is? I would like to FB unfriend them. They violated and disrespected our relationship.

Sad. In FB I have hundreds of exJW friends, initially it started from just a few people from here, meaning JWN. But it's grown to friends of friends. I've never had a problem until now. And I have to say, I have not accepted invites from Christian exJW's who have more extreme fundamentalist things on their feeds. We would not be a good match.

    Hey Sab..

Yes I see where your coming from..

I don`t think there was any WBT$ involvement..But..Who`s to say there won`t be in the future..

I don`t see the WBT$ being too happy, with an Anti WatchTower Association..

    wha happened?

I don't think it would be outing anyone if we learned who the culprit is, as I want to unfriend them as well
