After the 4th person came with a similar response I went outside and literally just screamed....

You should have got the message that you were doing it wrong when you failed with the first person.

When you try something new on JWs, start with the least important member to you so that you make your mistakes with JWs that don't directly affect your relationships with the people you really want to get 'out'.

Then ..... learn from each mistake. If you can't work out what went wrong .... STFU until you have worked it out.

I perceive (IMHO) a very definite, but sinister purpose in presenting so many "new lights" at the one time, in the same publication. All of the articles are being used to reinforce and consolidate the position of the GB in the eyes of the 'flock', as God's authority on earth.

Two scenarios are surreptitiously being offered - either accept the new "understandings" or leave! Some will leave (sooner or later) because of these blatantly unscriptural teachings, but the ones who remain will fall into two categories; those who adore the GB and believe everything without "testing the inspired expressions", and those who reject such fallacies but "sigh and groan over the detestable things being done."

For any of my brothers & sisters reading this, just keep this simple truth fixed firmly in your mind - for all the years that you have been in the "truth", if you had scripturally challenged any or all of the doctrines which have now been reversed, you would have been disfellowshipped and refused social contact with your Witness family members for the rest of your 'apostate' life. The exact same situation applies with the "new lights".

Don't you think that God's spirit-direction is being falsely claimed by "men speaking twisted things"? Read Acts 20:30 & Revelation chapters 2 & 3.

This is an excellent example of why it is impossible to reach believing cult members with facts and logical reasoning. You have just observed the cognitive dissonance in action.

The more you attack the beliefs, the more secure they feel that they have the truth(that is getting brighter and brighter).

We have to learn more from Steven Hassan. It's all about reaching the "true self". Discussing dogma only activates the "cult self". It's just counterproductive.

Those diagrams will convince JWs. As for the rest of it, it's so damn confusing. When I was in I never really paid attention to that sort of stuff or tried to understand it because it was too loopy and I figured it didn't have much relevance to my day to day life. I wonder how many others there are who just go, "Meh, whatever."

seems to me the only legitimate time when you can openly criticize the GB/Organization etc is when you are studying before dedication/baptism. The moment you query or raise doubts about teachings/doctrine etc you are condemned as an apostate and thrown out....!...as for correction of interpretation etc as with the July 15th article..well!! when things are wrong/unclear the society just say to wait on Jehovah and be patient...then when they alter understanding the society say it's 'New Light'.....win /win both ways!! ..finally...if a witness suffers it is always from Satan..but if things are going well Jehovah gets the credit..win /win again!!..all very tiring and designed to clamp shut any who honestly question what thy are being told is 'The Truth'...!

Whatever comes from the Watchtower is from the Faithful and Discreet Slave so it must be true. There is no way anybody else can understand the Bible like they can because God is working through them, to question them is to question God. Even if it turns out to need adjustment at a later date, it is the food we needed at the time it was provided because it came from God's Organization.

Yes. I'm sick tired and fed up of the cliches praising the GB (God for everything that happens).

It reminds me of a Twighlight Zone episode where Bill Mumy was a boy endowed with special powers and if anyone upset him he'd turn them into some awful thing. So they were all afraid of him and say stuff like: 'It's good that you killed your father.'

It's the same thing. They fear the WBT$'s vile, corrupt, paedo loving iron meat mincer. They are pissing up the WBT$'s back to appease it so they don't get pushed into the mincer.

Even when I was R&F, all the GB praising got on my tits.

Yes! Interesting observation. A lot of rank and file are not interested in dogma or interpretations of the bible. They just focus on paradise where they will pet pandas and feed lions with carrots. Any critical thinking can deprive the feeding those lions with carrots.

Question: Do Jehovah' Witnesses claim to be true prophets ?

Answer : Yes

True prophets speak in the name of God, but merely claiming to represent him is not enough
