  Even if the R&F are happily swallowing right now, I'll bet many of them are faking it.

  Back in 1995 when the first of the noo lite on "generation" came out, my first reaction was that it was a maneuver, but I swallowed it anyway. All the same, my skepticism had been ignited. Eventually it turned into a roaring inferno and I left in disgust.

  So, don't give up just yet, SSC. It may take time, but some of the sheep will eventually be posting on this board and saying that the thing that got the apostate ball rolling for them was the F&DS noo lite.

  Yes, Cupcake, some will think. But remember.....the ghanging of that "generation" had more impact on the rank and file. It was an opening for delaying the time to the big A. Maybe they felt that they were not supposed to se the end of this world order. The same thing can be said of the infamous overlapping generations.

  But, the GB as the FDS changes nothing for the rank and file. They had to blindley obey the GB before this change, and they have to obey now.

  OK! Maybe some people will react and see that the GB is tightening their grip. We will surely see some new members here. But it will not cause a mass exodus.

  OMG. The CULT SPEAK is awful! True JWs cannot even speak without sounding like a controlled puppet!

  I think this is exactly as many predicted. I believe this was a calculated move by the GB. I think they know this will weed out the thinkers, thus causing them to lose a scant percentage of their base followers but not enough to cripple them financially. It also allows them to grip the remaining flock even tighter since the remaining flock is now willingly putting 100% trust in 8 men.

  She is captive to the concept that somehow someway even through lies, cover ups, mistakes etc.......this is STILL GOD's ORGANIZATION. Has she read Don Cameron's book "Captives of a Concept" yet? Until she can realize that there is no way God could have chosen them in 1919......she will remain in fear.

  Julia - I believe the MAJORITY feel that way. There are so many loops and stretches that the average JW just basically says "wow.....I don't understand. Good thing the FDS does though! And it sure is good that God isn't going to judge me based on MY understanding, but rather, how closely I follow the direction of the organization."

  I think this will be the first copy of the WT I am going to ask a relative for. I gotta read this while holding it. I will probably need to drink copius amounts of alcohol afterwards. I may even go to the meeting just to see how they spin this. I mean I could fake it and say that I read the article months before and I was convinced that I need to come and see this new information explained...I could sit there with a look of consternation and turn to the person next to me and say I am so confused in a loud voice...
  
  but I digress (SIGH...)

  I kinda browsed thru it online and I just LOVED the visuals that were inserted into the articles. If the words messed you up then the pictures and graphs should make it "clear". Uh-huh!
  
  I sent a message to a few JW friends just to let them know that the issue was out and that it is contained "new light", that they would find interesting. Then I said I am sure they will be able to understand the new information and share it with new ones. Right. Um...hmmm!

  After the 4th person came with a similar response I went outside and literally just screamed.

  Yup, there is no amount of reasoning you can use as long as they are happy being a JW. Only when their spiritual paradise starts to crumble will they possibly explore the reasons for being a JW. This normally happens when they get disfellowshipped, reproved or when they're at the recieving end of some gross injustice. I have seen subsitute CO's leave the organization because they instantly lost their status in the congregation. It all starts there for many JWs.

  My immediate reaction on reading the article IS ...once again the goal posts are moved, which raises a lot more questions for their judgmental attitude (sheep and goats) during this time period which there is no apology and further perjury.
