So sorry for your loss. It is devasting to lose a pet. The way I get through it is by enjoying the memories of a life well lived and the fact that there's now room for another animal that desperately needs a home and human companionship.

It is hard to loose a "fur child", our heads keep telling us it's "only a cat" or "only a dog", but the heart knows different. I lost my sweet Cleo last year, she was 17 years old, adopted by my husband from a shelter when she was 2, became mine when my husband and I married 4 years later. How to explain how much a part of our life she was? A sweet little tuxedo cat, only five pounds, but a fierce hunter, as passionate about hunting as she was affectionate. We have a new love, Lizzy, a dilute tortie, smart and crazy and nothing like Cleo, but who has stolen our heart none the less. Life goes on, our hearts love again.

Sorry for your loss...we can identify with the loss of a pet. The emotional pain can be enormous. Sorry you are going through this.

Sorry for the lose of your sweet cat. I have had to do the same thing and it is not easy. Wait awhile before you get another cat. You need time to get over this first.
