When I was under mind control from the WBT$, I couldn't understand how no one could believe it was ''the truth(R)''. I was convinced that they knew it was ''the thruth(R)'' but wanted to live a ''worldly(TM)'' life instead.
Now I'm out of the filthy, disgusting WBT$ corporation I can see how these JDubs think. It's very frustrating that THEY can't see the real truth.
I'm sick of my Mum saying: ''Oh, but you know it's the truth!''
Me: ''ARrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRgggggggggGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!''

wha happened?
She did head down the road of "Don't judge the organization by it's individual personaltiies". That actually pissed me off and I told her bluntly, that I didn't get involved with this religion because of people and vice versa. Then zoooom, she's gone, off on another errand.
That was the 1st of two people. The 2nd guy is an old friend whom I knew before we were both JW's. Yesterday, he finally got the nerve to ask why, and I replied, "doctrine." What followed was a display of the worst reasoning even for a dub, and the cognative dissonance was in full gear. I was amazed to hear him say things like, "Well it's mostly true so it must be true". "It's the truth because I know it." Anytime I pinned him down on a topic, he would just throw out an insane question. Completely off topic.
In the end of that conversation, He told me that I was more intellectual than he is, and I have obviously done the research, bought he knows it's the truth.

People like that will poke and prod forever. They believe that if they can get you to talk.......THEY will have the words you need to hear! They will have the magic elixir that makes you want to return to the organization. Problem is.....if you talk....you may reveal something they can't defend. Then they will panic, assume that you are now apostate and turn you in to the elders.

wha happened?
oh my bro got into a full blown panic at times. Responding to my objection about the blood policy, while I was punching holes in it, he responded with, "Well if they died, are you telling me that Jehovah can't ressurect them?" Laughing, I said, "Is that the cure all for the screw ups by the GB, Jehovah will just ressrect them? With that analogy, why is murder wrong? Jehovah will just ressurect them. Look man, drop the stupid non topic question, and straw man arguments because for one, it's purpose is to distract from the topic that you obviously can't defend. And secondly, you're doing a really crappiy job of it."
He also denied that organ transplants were a no no at one time. Admitted to having little understanding of the Generations/overlapping etc etc. Even stated that it had him confused, but it's mostly right.
I dunno why but I kept thinking about Billy Crystal in "The Princess Bride". "He's only mostly dead"

Nah, judge the organization by it's fruit. - Matthew 7:16
"Well it's mostly true so it must be true".
Besides that fact that "mostly true" also means: At least partially false; there is the glaring problem that your friend's conclusion does not follow from his premise.
Me, I like my Truth unchanging and my "accurate knowledge" to be accurate. But that's just me.
With JWs those are just slogans that don't actually mean anything.

One conversation I had with my Mum had her rebuttals as all the same phrase which didn't answer my objections just annoyed me more:
''Oh, that doesn't matter. Come back to the meetings. You KNOW it's the truth!''
