Sad....but it is true . When bad things happen, they do indeed rejoice. It is like a vindication of their doom mongering, they feel justified, they feel great - because they are "no part of the world", they are special..oh so special !

I am agast at his statement that "no Witnesses were killed" so the others do not matter ...that is sick. I wonder what Jesus would think of it?

NB. I can still remember the triumphalism of some dubs when Aids was always in the news. Some were delighted that they were getting their come-uppance!

Interesting. I never really understood that kind of thinking. Of course, when 9/11 happened I was first starting to have some doubts about the JWs, though I didn't research it until nearly 8 years later. But even then, I wasn't thrilled, I was horrified at the death and destruction, and grimly aware that war was on the horizon, that people would be calling for blood. I did of course wonder if that could lead into the governments turning on religion, but nothing about the thousands more who would surely be dying sounded particularly good to me, that's for sure.

In the 70's , 80's and 90's there were IRA bombings in London practically ever week. In Syria and Lebanon and such places, it's been the same way as long as I can remember....this is not a new thing but when it happens in ones own country, it's a different story...things are getting a little too close to home now so this time it truly must be the end of the world, those other places don't count.

9/11 was very similiar in the fact that many JW's were excited. 9/11 was on a Tuesday, I remember the we had the C.O. visit that night and he made a point about not being afraid rather be joyful this may be that start of the great tribulation and great and events may occur one right after another culminating in the big "A."

I never thougth much about it, but man that a sick way of thinking.

PROOF THE TOWER IS RIGHT ABOUT THE WORLD CONDITIONS! That's why they love any event considered traumatic!

We all know there weren't any JW's there.......they were running a race of endurance after all. (rim shot)

You know, I am ashamed to have felt this way about people at one time.
