Hi flipper. The word Elder. Brings to mind a person with many years of life experience. One who has wisdom and knows how to take care of a matter with skill and love. According to the Webster dictionary Elder mean "one having authority by reason of age and experience". In the JW Cult it means one who follows whatever the GB tells them to do. Totally ADD

WBTS - What the GB (Sanhedrin) teaches especially in relation to doctrines such as hellfire, trinity, immortality of the soul.
BIBLE - A person, Jesus (John 14:6). Also the message about Jesus' roles of saviour, deliverer/liberator, atoner/reconciler, restorer, sanctifier, justifier and more (Gal 2:5,14; Eph 1:13; 6:14; Col 1:5).

BIBLE - Spiritual unfaithfulness/adultery/fornication/prostitution. Having a duplicitous relationship with the "god of religion" whilst claiming a relationship with the "God of Abraham". WBTS - Foretelling, prediction (with a focus on setting dates for the big A).
BIBLE - A message (of divine origin). Most often "the good message" (gospel, evangel, good news, sacred secret, glad tidings) via the prophets (human messengers or postmen) who were each indwelt with the spirit of Christ. (Rom 1:1,2; Eph 3:5-6; 1 Pet 1:10-12 compare at www.bible.cc)

WBTS - Religious belief/s (in doctrines - or the falseness of doctrines such as the trinity, hellfire and immortality of the soul)
BIBLE - A wide opening of the spiritual eyes of ordinary individuals. Such persons can now "see" or discern "realities" invisible to the natural/physical/carnal/temporal/religious man - the person that walks by flesh and sight instead of by spirit (Heb 11:1,26,27; 1 Cor 2:14-15). Belief emanates from man - faith (is a free gift that) emanates from God. God grants faith to those that hear his message (the unabridged gospel) and respond favourably (yield, pursue, obey the message of unmerited salvation and an imputed clean and right standing before God). (Rom 10:16,17)

THE GOOD NEWS
WBTS - Only one ingredient namely the future restoration of physical paradise on this earth. This ignores the many present and spiritual dimensions of the "Good News" message. Oddly enough followers of the Watchtower call themselves "publishers of the Good News" yet the message they publish as Good News is most often what the GB (Sanhedrin) currently teaches especially in relation to doctrines such as hellfire, trinity, immortality of the soul.
BIBLE - A detailed message, map or medicine with at least thirty key components, ingredients, or markers at the centre of which is the "plan of salvation" (on the basis of Jesus’ birth, death, burial, resurrection and ascension) also referred to by Paul as the "pattern of healthful words". This message is hidden in plain sight throughout (Judeo-Christian-Muslim) scripture (namely the Bible consisting of OT/Torah/Tawrat/Zabur and NT/Injeel/Injil).
The "full Good News" or "unabridged gospel" can "easily" be found, pursued and embraced by anyone who has an open mind, honest heart, and no agenda.
Two simple steps can get anyone started.
STEP1: Find and mark all the occurrences of the phrase "Good News" or the word "gospel" in the Bible. There are around 152 occurrences in the NWT (not all refer to the good news). Search tools like at www.bible.cc, www.biblegateway.com, or even the electronic Watchtower library make this a simple and relatively quick job.
STEP2: Find and mark all the occurrences of the words "righteous" and "righteousness" in Paul's letters (the books Romans through Hebrews). Note how a clean and right standing with God is not earned, deserved or paid for, but imputed as a free gift.
Be warned though, that there is nothing that the Sanhedrin (GB) and Pharisees (ruling religious clergy class) secretly fear and hate more than the "full Good News" or "unabridged gospel".
This is because "the truth of the good news" was specifically designed to set people spiritually free.
It makes Pharisees redundant and impotent whilst exposing their spiritual confusion, blindness, insanity, inebriation, unfaithfulness, fornication, adultery and prostitution (aka apostasy).
Thousands like Ray Franz have been surreptitiously attacked, ostracised, slandered and driven out (of the harlotrous Watchtower) for becoming "spiritually contaminated" by the "gospel of grace" (the Good News of unmerited favour). -

Flipper, we had our own language the Watchtower created to imprison our minds and keep the Truth away. Last night I was listening to a CD a new Christian friend gave me and I was not turned into a piller of salt! The preacher was excellent, did not tickle my ears and his caliber of teaching the Bible was beyond what any JW elder could perform.
Flipper, the hit show from AMC "Mad Men" sits well with me, I can see the boys of New York sitting back in their office trying to stimulate their dying Cult by pulling out all the tricks. Does the Watchtower have a Advertising Agency or Marketing group aimed at conjuring up "Knew Lite"? Good point you bring to us!

Looks like the Watchtower has awarded itself the authority to define meaning of english words for example 'generation, Slave, World etc' as long as they apply to their situation. Well, this is a manipulative organisation. So what can we say about it?
