Good one! Interesting, the headquarters is in NYC, U.S.A. NYC has one of the top libraries in the country, why is the U.N one better? PLUS, I can use their library on-line and I didn't have to join as an NGO member

A: You do not need to visit the Dag Hammarskjöld Library in most cases.
Many UN documents are available from the Official Document System (ODS) (full text searchable database of UN documents) or from the United Nations Bibliographic Information System (UNBISnet) including:
- Official documents since 1993;
- All Security Council plenary documents since 1946;
- Resolutions since 1946;
- Documents prior 1993 are being scanned and added to the ODS and UNBISnet on a daily basis.
Official records that have not yet been digitized are made available to external researchers through United Nations Depository Libraries or Information Centers (UNICs). If the requested document is not available in a depository library, the Dag Hammarskjöld Library provides scan-on-demand service.
