The org fits the profile of a cult (All the Shunning). Told not to speak to a person just because an announcement was made that a person is no longer a JW? WTF!!! No one is allowed to communicate with an Ex-Member. The best way to keep info (TTATT) from spreading. That's a cult if I ever heard of one. Couldn't see that when I was in.

It seems to me the practicing JW's are made up of three groups: the saved or righteous by imputation (on their way out) 5%, the not yet saved (unrighteous) 90%, and the never will be saved (wicked or evil) 5%. (Estimated percentages).
This is what I am seeing on my particular faith journey regarding the latter evil ones, most of whom inhabit the "ruling religious clergy class" (along with their VISIBLE organisation, or golden calf, or pseudo mediator):
1 - False gospel (to prevent people finding Jesus and becoming his disciples)
2 - Another Jesus (one who is not our mediator, one who approves of religion/cults, and one who judges those not "smart" or hypocritical enough to hide their sin/s)
3 - Spiritual unfaithfulness/adultery/fornication/prostitution (apostasy)
4 - Pharisaism (legalism, moralism, Nicaean ethnocentrism, magisterium including specialised knowledge not available to laity class)
5 - False prophesying (delivering misleading messages from the "god of religion" namely Satan)
6 - Dishonesty (including rhetorical fallacies, cover-ups, injustice, and revisionism).
7 - Spiritually blind, confused, inebriated and insane
8 - Contempt for faith, spirituality, and salvation, whilst lusting after religion (Babylon). Thieves who steal faith and salvation (eternal life).
9 - Physical/natural/carnal/temporal men with no natural affection or mercy
10 - Troublemakers (persecutors) - towards those with upright hearts, meek dispositions, and compassionate orientations. Especially defending and hiding paedophiles, rapists and fraudsters, whilst discrediting, undermining, demonising and slandering their victims.
There is nothing the elders and GB ("ruling religious clergy class" or Pharisees) secretly hate and fear more than the "unabridged gospel" or "full Good News".
Every single person they have ever seen, that continually pursues the "unabridged gospel", begins to reject their "magisterium" (claimed authority), and soon breaks free from the carefully crafted spiritual prison, to follow the real Jesus instead of the Watchtower Jesus.

I agree... disfellowing and shunning should be two separate issues. After all, you can be ex-communicated in most religions but not shunned.

no particular order
1) The blood transfusion prohibition/shunning and unscriptual secret meetings to expel repentant so called sinners
2) 1914/1919
3) The Channel of communication
4) The Malawi scandal
5) UN Membership
6) The futility of their preaching and claims of a world wide message
7) Countless failed and false prophecies
8) The Paedophile policy
9) The erroneous New World Mistranslation
10) The occult beliefs of their founder

The idealization and revision of the Watchtower Society's history is a major issue that has helped many wake up.
They deliberately mislead and misrepresent their past beliefs and doctrines in order to make themselves look like prophets or an organization that has God's backing.
They cannot hide from this, their worst enemy is the abundance of false prophetic statements and unfilled expectations that they have put into print over the last 100+ yrs. The fact they try to revise their history to create an idealized image that will make themselves more appealing to the public was the game breaker for me when I was learning TTATT.
This should be on the list for sure IMO. All anyone needs to do is compare what they use to believe, to what they now say they use to, and they will prove themselves dishonest liars. No need to argue doctrine or theology, their lies are on record for all to see.

What would eternal life look like if these venomous serpents were able to hide their true nature and made it to the front of the salvation queue?
I thank God for his priceless wisdom in hiding from the physical/natural/carnal/temporal/religious man.
Now he can freely and quickly choose to delude himself into thinking God does not see, hear or know what goes on behind closed doors.
Especially when the members and supporters of the star chamber Judging Committee take counsel against victims, the innocent, and the righteous/justified/sanctified.
Certainly God could show his power in such a way that every Pharisee wouldn't hesitate to "willingly" do the right thing.
However I prefer to know what is really in someone's heart - and for them to act on it - in front of all onlookers in heaven and on earth.
Painful and messy? Sure! But the resulting legal precedents will be eternally watertight - a secure future for our heavenly father's children.
I just love how the evil/wicked Pharisees get to judge themselves unworthy of eternal life. They do this by their contempt for the "plan of salvation". According to this plan, salvation is granted by "unmerited favour" as a "free gift" to ordinary fallen sinners. This simply and quietly happens when they respond favourably to the "unabridged gospel" and follow Jesus instead of any human/s and their inane ideas, dogma, traditions and organisations.
