I generally am ignorant of world events until i read of it here or someone tells me. We dont have TV and i use no internet news service ans a homepage, i dont listen to the radio, nor buy newspapers, so...
I am usually a week behind the times...

I always watch the BBC news that's because I generally only watch the BBC, mostly the news
Occasionally I read the Guardian or the Independent sometimes on the internet

No radio or tv news. I occasionally see a headline on a front page of a newspaper. I get some news here, or from people i meet. If the world ends, i'll find out about it the next day. 99.9% of stuff happening in the world doesn't concern me directly, as in something i can do something about or need to. I don't need to know about it or take a stand.
Historical patterns keep repeating. Issues, the same ones, keep living for yrs or even decades. If there is something that intersts me, i can spend weeks reading about it, in order to understand it. I use the internet to get articles, news or books on it. Its a different way of seeing events.

Usually BBC news on TV. No newspapers but if there's something interesting I'll read articles online from news sites like the Guardian.
Link TV, Free Speech TV both have Demoracy Now News and Aljazeera News. On the normal networks to much dumbing down for me. As far as I am concern Fox News should be called Cult News. Totally ADD
al Jazzra or Wall street journal or Democracy now which is objective.
The Mountaineer. Twitter feeds.
Drudge Report, local online paper, Fox News Channel, CNN online. I don't trust most other "news" sources.
