    Faith is knowing.

The assured expectation of things not yet seen.

You can have faith in someone... in the sense of trusting someone to do as they have told you; or trusting that what they say is true. But how can you have faith in someone you aren't even sure is real?

Faith is knowing someone not yet seen. Faith hears and obeys. Abraham put his faith in the One he heard... he heard, believed, and obeyed (faith and works).

People don't tend to have faith in someone they do not know, or someone they are not sure even exists. That is why it is knowing Christ, that means life. Not 'taking in knowledge', that means life.

    Peace,

Faith is suspending reality and claiming/asserting your belief of x,y,z based on your feelings and mere opinion with no rational method of testing your belief.

Insight On The Scriptures(Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania 1988) under the heading Faith on pages 803/804 after quoting Hebrews 11:1 (on page 1077 under the heading Hebrews the book tells us ' Evidence indicates that it was written by the apostle Paul)

" 'Assured expectation' translates the Greek word hypotasis. This term is common in ancient papyrus business documents. It conveys the idea of something that underlies visible conditions and guarantees a future possesion. In view of this, Moulton and Milligan suggest the rendering:"Faith is the title deed of things hoped for"
