Outlaw - "Tuesday and his crew must be laughing their asses off... They created the ficticious group,"Vast Apostate Army"... Now JW`s believe it?..LOL!!.."

Fundies of any stripe have a real hard time with satire.

Remember the Onion article about J.K. Rowling converting to Satanism?

The tale of irony is that Russell was countering opponents of his views -- views which are no longer taught by the Society, and which views, if now held by a Witness, would be grounds for disfellowshipping...

"truth" in WT Land often has a very short expiration date.

JW apologists have a far, far greater need to find flaws in your personality than in your views. They often betray a shocking ignorance of your views and that ignorance drives their need to target you.

Therefore, they are simply not interested in what you have to say and so do not need to respond to it.

They have become increasingly like the defenders of the Churches of Christendom whose ignorance of other views is only matched, if not surpassed, by their proudly declared hatred of their critics.

Until a Witness examines their beliefs in the cold light of day, free from the need to personalize and attack others, you are wasting your time trying to share your views. A horse being led to water springs to mind.

Beautiful. When we left, my father said I would end up on the street as a prostitute. Lovely encouragement. Instead, I have 5 years of Uni behind me, had a good career and despite difficulties on the way am so very very grateful that I am free. Sorry, WT society - I did not end up at all like you wished me to- but instead helped many on their way into your slave pit to stay out of it, along with a few friends and relatives as well!

"... these manifest anger, malice, hatred, strife, 'works of the flesh and of the devil' such as we have never known worldly people to exhibit. They seem inoculated with madness, Satanic hydrophobia [rabies]. Some of them smite us and then claim that we did the smiting. They are ready to say and write contemptible falsities and to stoop to do meanness."

This description would be considered an unforgivable insult if it came from anyone but the WTS. From them, it's a glowing compliment.

BTW, since we are a "vast apostate army," I want to be a general. I want a hummer and someone to drive me around in it.

Apostate General Parakeet. Has a nice ring.

" Instead of saying in the manly fashion of the world, 'I have found something which I prefer; goodbye!' "

That's exactly what I'd hear from people when I was going door-to-door as a member of a cult that stooped to "contemptible falsities" and "meanness."

BTW, what a totally sexist remark. "Manly," my ass.

Most who leave simply do say goodbye and move on with their lives. Most dissidents don't become the militant apostate, but the militant apostate is the dissident the JW apologist is most likely to come across. The rest of us do just up and leave.

The Bat is a pest. I think he has certain issues.

I'm not sure how the local elders deal with him. I can't remember his name but I believe he lives in Portsmouth UK.

I wonder if cantleave knows him?

Maybe as the Congregation Nutter they allow him a certain leeway as long as he doesn't rock the boat.

Yes, I dare say there are many who act a bit 'crazy', lash out etc upon realizing the world they once believed was true happens not to be the real deal. Facing cold reality can be quite traumatic after the seeming warmth and security of 'mother':
