With the July 15 WT approaching, would this be the ideal opportunity to start an ACTIVELY VOCAL fade?

Be careful Bro. If you are not publicizing you doubts to others ( your wife doesn't count ) Then you are not causing divisions. We will see if the " brazen conduct" card is played or not. I think eventually, as conditions worsen and they get crazier it might be used. If the more " loving " Elders step-down or just refuse to stand up againt the hard-liners then we might see " brazen conduct " used often. I have never heard of someone df'd for that reason. Has anyone heard of that?

There is a 1980-81 letter to Elder's that says they should not go on witch-hunts when it comes to doubters. You can always say that an Elder told you about it years ago. Ask them to please check their records for you. Tell them you are losing sleep because of stress. If they get to controlling you have to satnd up for yourself. If you don't they will be all up in your business for the rest of your life.

Are you serving in any official capacity? If you are not, it will be easier.

    peace,

And you wonder why LOYALTY has been demanded for the GB?

Because you can't be loyal to their teachings!

DATA-DOG, i'm not serving at all now, came off as an elder a while back, but I do vaguely remember that letter about witchhunts..

I'm gonna be very careful about what I say, and to whom I say ANYTHING. If the loyalty question comes up, I'll be non-committal, just saying that I don't KNOW for SURE. I can't see action being taken against me for that, it's quite clearly just a question of doubting not apostacizing, I just think that if people see me less and less then they've got something in their mind to account for it, rather than wondering, and pestering!

(I know I don't owe them anything, but I do think it'll be an easier route for ME).

    We'll see.

Data-Dog - "I just can't figure out if they are getting desperate enough to let people fade, as long as they retain the hardcore followers, or if they are going to crack down even more."

I think it was option A way a few years back, but I suspect that there were a lot more faders than they expected. These days, it's more of Option B.

Word on the net is they're gonna get more proactive regarding faders in the near future (and not in a nice way), 'cause many of 'em are able to subtly reason with still-in family members.

I think the counsel given in this thread has been wonderful! If I could sum it up, it would be with Jesus’ words when he said, “Be cautious like serpents and innocent like doves.” I also believe that the experience 5go had is typical. Once you start to fade, you will be “marked.” For men, this marking is subtle. It’s not simply that you are avoided, but that the “privileges” of praying for the congregation as well as participating in the Theocratic Ministry School will be revoked. You will find that you won’t be called upon to pray and that you will receive no talk assignments. If you are a servant or an elder, you will be deleted. There will be other moves taken to show you are no longer viewed favorably.

Such actions make fading easier, in my opinion, because they show you really aren’t welcome in the congregation. Very often these actions are taken without any discussion with you (unless you are deleted from the servant body), as you are expected to either ask what’s going on or to figure this out for yourself. However it shakes out, Captain Blithering, follow the advice you’ve been given here, especially since you have a spouse and other relatives involved. I wish you the very best.

" Very often these actions are taken without any discussion with you .."

LOL!! That's what happened to me. I adressed some problems in the KH and ORG. I walked in and my name was suddenly off every list in the KH! I thought, " Rock-on! I am tired of bustin my a** for these ungrateful, what have you done for us lately, time-obsessed corporate yes-men!" It was a real boost because it showed me that my suspicions were correct.

They just DF'd someone for God knows what.. Several others can't run a microphone or do anything because of service time. They are down to a couple MS's and teenagers! My time is still holding steady, but they won't use me because I said the GB is not infallible and the WT contains errors, and proved it with references. What a bunch of nuts! I love the people, but somethings got to give..

Remember it is their game, their rules, and they can change the rules any time, and different congregations can have different rules.

Blondie said, " Remember it is their game, their rules, and they can change the rules any time, and different congregations can have different rules."

    How's that for unity?!

Hey DD can you post the errors in the WT and the refrences you showed them?

I may use them in the next step of my fade

JwFacts was my one stop shopping destination. I just focused on the increase of partakers with yearbook stats, and quotes about the last days. Remember that decreasing partaker was 1 of the " lines of evidence " that the end was near. That all changed with the special talk a couple of years ago " Is It Later Than You Think?", a ridiculous talk that was a blatant re-hash of older material. Then the several changes to the " Superior Authorities " teaching. Then several quotes about the GB saying that they are not infallible.

That's when charges of disrespect came into play. All they can say is that we, " Trust the Slave." I was read the quote about how Christ trust them sooo much that they have been appointed over all his belongings. Well, that changed too. The the loyalty question, " Do you believe that this is Jehovah's Organization?" I said, " Yes." I wasn't lying. It is JEHOVAH'S organization. I just don't believe their Jehovah is my YHWH.

If I can find something, I will post it. You could start a thread about to present to the Elders. It's good to have a file of info. What you want to do is expose their worship of the Org. Just say that you trust Christ above all others, period. Make them prove you wrong on that. Don't be confrontation on purpose. Just ask honest questions, they are the " stars " in Jesus' hand after all. Test them out.

    Peace,

    DD
