DesirousofChange - "We had that same talk as well within a week of the WT Study about a righteous one cannot be stumbled."

You know what that means, right?

If anyone feels "stumbled" by something the WTS gets wrong or screws up on, the implication is that the stumblee is unrighteous, rather than the stumbler.

    Subtle, but there nontheless.

Injustice never happens in the org. It is always a perceived injustice. That is their way of blaming the victim.

It may seem that there is a legitimate cause for complaint, but there never is a legitimate cause for complaint in this organization. More setting up of victims for further abuse.

Yeah, I thought it was very telling that the talk only addressed the PERCEIVED mishandling of matters within the congregation, but scrupulously avoided even acknowledging any matters that have ACTUALLY been mishandled.

Things that make you go, "Hmmmm!"

Kind of like a couple years back when they made a public statement to the effect that "hardly any elders have been convicted of child sexual abuse" (paraphrasing, but that''s the gist)...

...completely "forgetting" to mention allegations that didn't lead to convictions because of the flawed two-witness policy, cases that couldn't be pusued in a court of law due to insufficient evidence, elders who were transferred to other congregations to keep it quiet, or the accusations and/or succesful convictions of MSs, pioneers, or regular publishers guilty of sex offenses...

    Oops.

The only time I've ever heard more weasel-words was during the Iran-Contra hearings.

Real mistakes were admitted to occur at times, still the lesson was to let Jesus worry about it. Peter denied Jesus, but he was forgiven. I am all about forgiveness, still legitimate concerns should not be swept under the rug. Even Jesus called a spade a spade. He made a whip and drove people out of the temple!!

If your human rights are violated by shunning or your child is hurt by inadequate policies, let it go. That's what the OSCE would do..right?!
