Should I mention in my resume that I was MS for 3 years? I think it is a bad idea but it might help me in a good way?
I am thinking about updating my resume

YES, but only if MS means something other than Ministerial Servant, as that has no meaning in the work force.

Only if you're applying for the job of Assistant Pastor at the local church. Otherwise it a completely stupid idea, and I think you already know that.

unless you are prepared to go into an essay as to what it means.
Q. did that operate a food kitchen? No
Q. Did that operate an office to assist people with housing difficulties? No
Q. Did that mean being part of a counseling office (qualifications?) No.
Get the idea?

ShirleyW, Well, I have known some elders have mentioned they are elders on their resumes, it did help them to get managerial jobs even they do not have any college degree.

Well, I'll semi-retract my statement only if you tell us what kind of job you hope to get by mentioning that.

The question is, other than Jehovah's Witnesses, does anybody know what it means. The answer is NO.
Do you think being an MS is a skill? Ok, if you do then put it on your resume.
If you are going to be a theatre usher then MS can be listed as a job related skill.
Honestly, Iam, I never know if you are serious or not.

ShirleyW, Well I was a team leader over 10 people in the mailroom for 6 months. I might do that again.

rip, I will definitely spell out "Ministerial Servant" if I decide to add it there. Most of us here know what MS means.
