Due to Ongoing Concern about Dwindling Meeting Attendances, IS THE BOOK STUDY ARRANGEMENT GOING TO BE RE-INSTATED NEXT YEAR?

That's funny - that someone thinks that (1) the WTS gives a rat's patootie what the "older friends" think and even more ludicrous (2) that they would change their policy as a result.

Look - the WTS views the "sheep" as contemptible morons, too stupid to know what is in their own best interests. For that reason, every WT is filled with "loving counsel" to avoid college, pornography, "bad association", apostates, working too much, working too little, etc, etc. etc.

The WTS has decreed that the home book studies were expendable, and that JWs will benefit far more from a "family worship night". Thus it will be evermore so, at least until a change would benefit the WTS in some way.

The WTS will change to suit the requests of its members about the same time that Rush Limbaugh begins endorsing the Communist Manifesto.

Here are the reasons I am pretty confident that there will not be a re-instated book study arrangement in private homes.

    1. (Money) Lawsuits from legal liability for creating a situation facilitating predator pedophiles.

    2. (Money) The extremely low, if any, donations raised at the private homes.

    3. (Money) The need to constantly print new books to even get people to show up, rather than cover the Revelation Grand Climax book again. The arrangement at the mid-week meeting is shorter and slows down the need for new books. Besides money, this need for new books is also exacerbated by the lack of fresh ideas for books from the cut-and-paste crowd running the show.

    4. (Money) As Bethel moves out into the boondocks, they don't want to give gas-money to Bethelites to get to home book studies in the area.

No matter what the watchtower does they will not be able to stop low attendance. Old folks are dying off and we are dealing with a new

generation of young witnesses with iphones and internet and access to JWFACTS and all the videos on youtube that expose the Watchtower.

They can baptize them at 13-14 but eventually many of them will have their eyes open and move on with their lives.

They told us that the end is getting near, and they didn't want to burdon us anymore. That was of course BS, but, to replace the Book Study again would be denying those statements. The attendance would also suffer, just like it did when it existed.

The old farts who have nothing to do are the only ones that want a reason for another meeting. In their defense, they feel neglected.

That's exactly it Quarterback..........only those retired with no demands on their time would want the Tuesday night Book study reinstated.

Working people would no way want their Tuesday night taken from them again.

I hated Tuesday because of the book study. It hung over me all day, the rush to get home, get showered & changed & then grab something quick to eat.......................only to be 'studying' the Revelation book yet again.

One of the secrets of the growth and sustainability of the Megachurches is a midweek bible study group. It's a chance to develop lasting bonds with a smaller group of people, and someone will check up on you if you are not there. True, the Kingdom Hall is significantly smaller with a larger than usual ratio of supervisors, but it can't help but be less personal.

It's a lot easier to slip away in a larger group.

They can baptize them at [13-14 corrected to 10-11] but eventually many of them will have their eyes open and move on with their lives.

Is it any wonder the attendance is down? Those 10 & 11 year olds (or 13 & 14 year olds) are all being DFd for silly normal teenage things at 15 & 16 years old and they never go back. Plus the "smart" young people are going to college and getting educated (about WTS as well as other things) and are also leaving the religion behind. The WTS is left with the uneducated, backward young people to train as leaders.

They better not I will stop going right now. That was the worst meeting of the lot. Mainly due to the fact it was so stupid to have a third meeting during the work week.
