Circuit overseers acting like bigshots

I always felt that Circuit overseers always acted as if they were some type of celebrity at the hall.People damn near worshipped these people. I always felt like we should worship God and not these people or the Governing Bodyw while I was still in.

This was probably my process of eventually leaving.

You should see the fan fare of DO's and GB members. It like the President. Folks lined up to get a hand shake. Sickening.

Yea, we have the CO and the DO (a "work-with" week) at my hall this week. Fun to watch all the hypocritical ass-kissers showing up early (who normally show up at the last minute) and fawning all over these guys.

DO came to the literature counter doing his handshakings and greetings. Guy's hand was smooth as a baby's ass. Bet he's never done a day of hard work in his life.

I have met COs and DOs and GBs that don't seek out this attention and have found ways to sidestep it. Many times these are brothers and sisters that failed to successfully suck up to the last CO and want to be the first one in line; some who have a "spiritual" status they think they will get a different answer from. I have known some that seek out children and their parents, the shy, the elderly and sick, and are kind avoiding the suck ups. I remember one CO who came into the work later in life who always made a point to encourage young jws 19 and under. I heard one COBOE tell the CO not to let these people take up his time. The CO looked at him and suggested he do more bible reading about Jesus and walked to the next family. I have met others not this way, but not any more stuck up than the elders.

I know one that was very nice and he was humble. The rest were arrogant. It is amazing to see Jw's fumble over themselves at these people. To many who they see as having special spiritual knowledge.

d, i found that if they were arrogant in the congregation, they were arrogant in the traveling work. Being a CO/DO/GB did take a humble person and make them arrogant. Nowadays, the WTS looks more for obedient men, obedient to the WTS, who keep their mouths shut about any "spiritual" problems. When I left out of 3 COs, only 2 stayed past their first circuit. It turned out to be more than they bargained for.

Of all the CO's I've had., there were 2 super super nice ones. Our family became pretty close to them. One would come sit-in on our family study and end up taking a nap on the couch, telling my dad, 'you got this.' I ran into him 15 years later at Bethel. He was sick with cancer and getting treatment at a NYC hospital. His wife and he still remembered me after all those years. I am guessing he's dead now.

The other nice one was just never harsh at all. He was always genuinely encouraging and he didn't spew WTS bullshit when offering 'encouragement.' His wife and he went through a lot of crap before going into the circuit work so I think he had a much more balanced and realistic viewpoint on life. I think that goes a long way. A lot of the newer CO's are guys who went to MTS school at a young age and then after a few years right into the circuit work. They have no idea what real life is like.

I've only met one CO who was a complete piece of shit asshole. He would constantly push his personal ideas as doctrine. As a kid in the 80's and 90's, my brother and I LOVED Star Wars. Toys, video games, the movies, everything. This CO noticed that and told my dad it was evil. My dad made us get rid of all our stuff. My dad just became an elder so I guess he figured he had to tow the company line. I even asked my dad if he really believed it was evil and demonic or if he was just doing what the CO said. He danced around the question so you know what he really thought. He couldn't admit he just did it because the CO said so. One time his wife was scheduled to go on a study with my mom but she broke the appt. because she had to get her hair done. My mom approached her about breaking the appointment. She replied, "I'm the CO's wife. I can do what I want." I hope they're dead now. Assholes.

I do know that many circuit overseers also do not work and just pioneer. Sick these get freebies from the GB and donations I am sure that many of them if left to themselves would not survive in the real world.Going door to door does not constitute as having real work experince.

Some were just so out of touch.

Even little minnows feel like big fish when in a small pond. Many of these men never graduated from HS. The deference they are paid by the rank and file can completely distort their self image. I have known a few.

The majority of CO loved the attention. I knew a DO and

a CO that were down to earth, both served as missionaries.

We were close, they were humble men. I felt sorry for the wives

of bigshots CO. It,s fine for the husband but the wife, every week

rain or snow put on that fake smile, sisters complaining, no time for

personal time. It must be hard for the poor wives to be viewed as the

first lady. All the wives(CO,s DO,s) I knew were very humble women.
