Why JW's take on education is truly disingenuous

Rules & Regulation: I ESPECIALLY disliked those assembly parts where they would reinforce their bullshit with horribly applied simulated real life dramas that derided higher education. And the drones would just blindly clap to that bull shit. Incredible!

When I was serving in India Bethel, I could see a strange trend. Children of educated parents were pursuing higher education (ofcourse prompted by their parents) whereas others were blindly following JW dictat on higher education. Good to see at least some refuse to buy their short-sighted view on higher education.

If a person REALLY wants to learn public speaking, TOASTMASTERS is far better training, and it is RECOGNIZED!

TMS is waffling. (See the pun? You're welcome!)

The other thing hypocritical about it is that they make full use of the sacrifices others made by using doctors, lawyers and other professionals, but give nothing back to society because they prevent many otherwise qualified people from contributing in that way. Not only is that detrimental to the individuals, but to everyone, they are taking, but giving nothing back. Their excuse is that we are "so close" to the end, so it would be foolish to pursue higher education, but but of course that excuse wears a little thin, since they have been saying that for 100+ years.

This is one of the biggest issues I have as well, is how the WT hates, hates, HATES anybody who goes on to college/uni, yet so many in Bethel have a post-secondary education. Also, you're expected to be a window washer, cleaner, fast food worker, or labourer if you pioneer, which makes up 95% of all occupations of the pioneers I've met. Or your parents will help support you while you do whatever job.

I wasted 4 years pioneering, and just started college at 22 when I should have already graduated.

Also wtf is with the interviews on stage when people say "i had scholarships offered to me but turned them down for jah"? In my experience you don't get offered scholarships, you have to apply for them.

Tell a witness you're just working full-time/part-time, or you're a NEET, and nobody cares. Say you're a college student, and you're avoided and labelled a "bad associate".

They don't want people who can think. Period. They'll tell you all these lies about university, making out like it's a huge orgy party or something, but mention none of the good stuff, because the good stuff like meeting interesting, intelligent people, making connections, learning to think, having a goal and then a sense of achievement, well that will distract you from slaving for them.

I was 5 years at uni, 4.5 of them as a JW. Never saw any of the bad stuff. Heard some things, but nothing you wouldn't hear in a work environment where there's hundreds of people or even a few...
