My new bride and I were called into the back room, where all of the bad people are counseled, regarding some misconduct on our part. This was in the pre-seatbelt era, when your girlfriend could sit right next to you on the bench front seat while you were driving. Apparently, we were seen doing just that and we were counseled that it was conduct unbecoming because the people in the other cars may have seen us in the ministry but they may not know that we were married. Therefore, we were bringing reproach on God's name.

Why didn't I wake up sooner?

stillin, that happened with me. I was working at a AH build and some officious sister took me aside to tell me I was being too friendly with a married brother...I pointed out that he was my "fleshly" brother and was she suggesting something perverted....same response, the others would not know that...actually everyone knew that but her. The brother in charge took her aside and gave her an assignment far away outside the building...it was his DIL. Did my brother and I get dirty looks from her at lunch...but she kept her distance.
