When You Prayed...

At night did you kneel by your bed, sit on the edge of your bed or pray while in bed?

At a dear friend's house for dinner, one time in praying over the food he said, "Jehovah God, we fall on our faces before you".

Has anyone ever said that or done that?

It sounds as if they're referring to David after he'd done Bath Sheba. He fell on his face.

In some way this if this is the case, just shows me how much the WBT$ harping on about David influences the dubs. What else has gone into their minds on a subliminal level? No. Don't answer...we'll be here all day!

OK, maybe I should have just asked about prayer at bedtime and not mentioned a prayer said before dinner. The "fall on our face" introduction/greeting, was said so sincerely, but it also freaked me out. Isn't that what over zealous, religious people might think of to do?

I can't imagine many JWs falling on their face or even their knees during prayer, JWs don't like to show too much emotion in their acts of worship! Can you imagine a JW lifting a hand in the air during a Kingdom Melody or prayer? This is common in songs and prayer during evangelical services. OR laying hands on someone you pray for, that's common in the bible, but I've never seen a JW do it.

Sorry, I drifted a bit there! Answer: I used to sit on my bed. :)

Lalka, I usually got comfy under the covers, then said my prayers. (It is cold in The North Pacific). As a child, my mother would say, tell me when you are in your beds, and I will come say prayers with you. My sister and I would recite The Lord's Prayer together, then mom would say her prayer for us. Even though she was a baptized JW, she still had us say The Lord's prayer. (King James version).

    Lol... made me giggle.

Or just someone coming to God in complete humility.

Stating so out loud and to be heard by others though... might be more like the pharisee praying on the streetcorner so as to be seen by men, and receive his reward NOW ; rather than doing so in private, so that it is between him and God. Not for show.

It depended on the night. Most times I'd just sit in my bed, against my pillow that was against the wall. Sometimes I would kneel by my bed, or stand.

Hi Tammy Tec...The brother who said this was a sweetheart. He and his beloved wife are both dead now for a number of years. They were so honest and sincere. I think if they learned TTATT, it would kill them. It would destroy them to think they had been lied to and deceived. If they found out about Russell playing with his little pyramids and "Judge" Rutherford playing the nasty with Bonnie Boyd, while lounging in San Diego at Beth Sarim, partaking of the fermented juice of the corn the rye and the grape, then the generation change and now the FDSlave is the mediator between heaven and earth, they could not handle it.

SD-7, Thank you for your reply. I NEVER saw anyone pray, kneeling by their bed, until I got married. That really freaked me out. (I mean who WAS I going to see sleeping alone in my room). lol

I used to pray, in bed and would almost always fall asleep half way through...
