I was never a great prayer , I probably prayed in silence many years after leaving the WTS, during my years as a JW , prayers at meetings/family FS etc were purposely kept as scripted and cliche ridden as possible. I've not prayed to anyone whoever the hell may be out there for many years.

That is probably from a talk. You know how JW talk points get recycled because of lack of real ability to carry original thought?
Well there was a talk at one point rolling through, that explained what "prostrate" means in scripture. So wen one prostrated themselves before God, they were literally on the ground on their faces. Can't get any lower than that i guess.

Can't say. Brainmelt and I have the same problem. At night I would start to pray and fall asleep. Wake up and start all over hoping to get in an amen but then fall asleep half way through that prayer. Usually it takes about seven bouts of prayers and then on the last one I say a really quick one so I can get in my amen. Weird! Too much on my mind these days:)

The P.O in the Hall I grew up in always began the prayers at the meeting "It is with bowed heads and humble hearts, we stand before your heavenly throne...."
I went to visit my father's family in Europe for the summer when I was about 17. I shared a room with my Dad's much older brother. Each night he kneeled beside his bed and said his prayers. Even though he wasn't a Witness, I wondered how God could be displeased with or would destroy anyone like him.
