They have dug such a hole, and constructed such a forrest of mirrors that even they don't know anymore. The " church " is the " congregation ", the " congregation " is the " body of Christ ", or " the Bride of Christ." According to JW teaching ONLY the 144,000 are included in the " congregation ", although most JW's do not know this because they are poor students, even concerning thier own literature.

Having a Kingom Hall instead of a " church " or " congregation serves 2 purposes. 1) It separates Jw's from " false " religion. 2) It ensures that the word " congregation " is obscured, much like the words, steward, stewardship, intercessor, mediator. Just like the Bible is written only for the 144,00, the " congregation " is only made up of the 144,000, technically speaking. Normal " prospective " GC member JW's, are just hangers-on. They are only " associated " with the " congregation." They don't realize that they are not even considered part of the congregation. The KH is simply a feeding station where they MAY be able to gain salvation by thier support of Christ's brothers, the remnant of the " congregation."

See why they won't really answer...

Technically, the answer is correct, in that, if a church is indeed a group of people, and the meaning was limited to just that.

The problem is that the terms, in typical understanding, are interchangable. So when a person says "I'm going to chruch", they usually mean that they are attending a religious service that involves a group of people coming together at a given location to worship.

We all know the real reason that they don't call it a church, which has already been mentioned. Can't be like that dirty old gal Christendom now, can we?

The answer to all questions should simply be a boiler plate:

We make it our goal in life to be different no matter how nonsensical. If pressed, we'll give a reason and embarrass ourselves.
