So much for a 'governing body' being in Jerusalem! The religion started there, but that's about it. Once again, History shows the WT up.

Well it depends which gospel you read. supposedly he started preaching in gallilee. But if you read pauls writings, you will never know as he has no idea where jesus travelled or what he did.
I would say you read some of the history of the jews and the romans and what was happening.
The jews were causing major problems for the gov in rome which is why they got crushed. Just as Islam is diriving force for terrorism in some places and hatred, the same was true in judaism. Many fake messiahs had drawn believers into their armies and were trying their best to defeat and push rome away from their homeland. im not judging anybody, im just trying to be honest about hte facts. Given tge romans wanted to keep empire so they could bleed their subjects with taxes, they could allow rebellion.
Rome had to destroy judaism and this was achieved by destoying the temple. jews were not allowed into Jerusalem for centuries. The NT cursed them for nearly 2000 years via pogroms. One has to wonder how or why jesus was so concerned with taxation and subjugation and ignores the evils of slavery which powered the empire.
