Why do you blame Jehovah's Witnesses for false predictions ?

The WT claiming that all their false claims and predictions were done "sincerely" does not cut it, every religion claims it is sincere, and the WT has pointed out that such sincerity is simply not enough if they "teach falsehood".

I do not agree with the above poster who claims that false predictions were not made in the first century, of course they were, hence the excuse in 2Peter 3, many verses speak as though the "End" is near.

And if Jesus really spoke the words that Matthew and Luke give him about the generation he lived and taught amongst seeing the 2nd Coming, he was a false prophet too !

Yes DOC, They also claim to have all the qualifications of a " True" prophet

on page 133 in the Reasoning book

" If any individual or organizations claim to represent God but decline to use God's personal name, and make it a practice to express thier own opinions on matters, are they mearsuring up to this important qualification of a true prophet ? "_____Reasoning for the Scriptures book page 133

    1) Like Hananiah the WTS use God's personal name 2) and these predictions did not come true at the time they said it would

It's alright Phizzy, your free to disagree I don't claim to know all

I only give my view on what I come to understand

On page 136 in the reasoning book the WTS claims

" Like the apostles of jesus they have made mistakes "

But they have yet to show exactly what those apostles taught

that was wrong and had to be changed

    Like Hananiah the false prophet

The WTS gave a time limit . when Jesus said they wouldn't know

Example: Under the head of DATES in the Reasoning book the WTS states

" Before the last members of the generation that was alive in 1914 will have passed off the scene, all things will occur, including the great tribulation in which the present wicked world will end."_____Reasoning from the scriptures book page 97

Under the head of last days the WTS states

" The generation that was alive at the begining of the fulfillment of the sign in 1914 is now well along in years. The time remaining must be very short. world conditions give every indication that this must be the case."_____Reasoning from the scriptures book page 239

Exactly. The arguments that WT uses to defend its own false prophecies and changed doctrines are, ironically, the very same arguments it uses to discredit other religions as "false", and proof they do not have god's backing.

    As noted by Don Cameron:

"It's entirely circular thinking. "The Organization must be right because it changes it's teachings." First you postulate the existence of a single organization that God works through. Then, when that organization changes it's teachings you use that as "evidence" of God refining it's mouthpiece over time. This is an ingenious way for a religion to completely transform itself into whatever it wants without future generations being aware."

If sincerity is the single most important, then logically, god would have no basis for adversely judging anyone, regardless of which denomination they've chosen to be enslaved by.

I think a Muslim who straps a bomb to their body and detonates it in a crowded marketplace is most likely quite sincere. However, it doesn't make them right.

" Thus what is taught is not from men but from Jehovah "

So...Jehovah taught that the heavenly callling ended in the 1930's, and that for 1,900 years one generation of the Slave "class" taught the next. I guess Jehovah taught that homesexual acts were not grounds for divorce, and abortion is murder, yet un-born babies won't be resurrected because they never took the breath of life? Jehovah teaches that "fornication" involves the genital organs ( such a gross term ) we all KNOW what that means, yet artificial methods like IVF are wrong even though not touching occurs because life begins at conception and you are commiting abortion by freezing unwanted embryos who have not taken the breath of life..yada,yada..

Jehovah taught that the ancient worthies were coming back and needed a mansion? Jehovah taught that millions now living will never die? Jehovah taught that the generation that was BORN in 1914 will not die before the big " A " arrives? Jehovah flip-flopped on the "Superior Authorities"? Jehovah says you can have blood products from animals ( it's ok to store it and not pour it out ) and from worldly peoples donated blood ( also stored and not poured out) but YOU cannot store your own blood prior to an operation because it cannot be stored?! Jehovah banned organ transplants and let people die for decades ( as a test?! ) and then changed his mind???

What else has JEHOVAH (tm) taught, besides how to misquote authors and revise history? Am I missing anything?

For all of the lives wasted because people put off the things they coulda done

in this lifetime, the best the WTS can come up wit' is

Oops !!!!! " It is true that the Witnesses have made mistakes in thier understanding of what would occur at the end of certain time periods, but they have not made the mistake of losing faith or ceasing to be watchful ." ____Reasoning from the scriptures page 136

Hananiah made the same mistake ,

Like the WTS he caused people to believe in a falsehood and he was not spared

Even in this statement on page 136 the WTS blame the rank and file for theses lies

What else has JEHOVAH (tm) taught

You forgot to include that Jehovah said the Last Days began in 1799, Jesus returned in 1874, and the heavenly resurrection was complete by 1889.

Oh, and Armageddon was coming in 1914. Wait, 1915. No!1918. Er, 1925! Um, 1941? No, 1975.

And, generation means "overlapping", so I'm in the same generation as my great grandparents.

It is true that the Witnesses have made mistakes

Ever notice how the GB/WT claim to be the only one god talks to, yet when there's blame to be passed around suddenly all "the Witnesses" are to blame?

The rank-and-file have absolutely no influence in anything WT teaches, yet are the first to be blamed when things go off the rails.

I'd fall over dead instantly if I ever read in a WT publication, "the WT is solely to blame for these false teachings. Jehovah's Witnesses had nothing to do with it. The GB accepts full responsibility".
