Some time around there was the time we were thinking of pulling the plug on it. Glad I didn't.

Thanks, I logged on and it really looks nice. I like all the ideas about how the forum should be organized. Really though, we have a good forum now. I think too many forums is very confusing and discourages some from posting (lest I post in the wrong forum, ). I am referring to the thread Simon started about the new forum .
I like Terry's idea's about the disclaimer page , but see Simon has already has a nice opening page that seems really friendly. If I was a newbie, Terry's page would frighten me a bit ,but Simon's seems welcoming. I do however like the idea about "thought crimes". I think adding that idea to the welcoming page would be good, Simon.
I am just trying to think like I did in 96 when i first got on the net, what would frighten me and what would welcome me. I think Simon's welcoming page would have got me to at least look. so many of the older "apostate" sites were downright scary-i would have never even looked at them.

To keep my word and tie up a loose end, the browser I used to look at the new JWD I’m told is IE 8.
Earlier I was able to log on and though it’ll take some getting used to, it looks fine by me for whatever that’s worth. Any suggestions I have are already offered.
