What Do You Do On The Weekend?

Weekends? Breakfast, in a good cafe is the first item on the agenda! Buy the weekend Times, have a bash at the crossword, then in the pub for a couple of swifties around 1. I usually cook on Saturdays, which means chilli or lasagne, then I sit and watch the football scores as they come in on Sky with Her Ladyship who is a football nut. Then its a video (tonight was "Proof of life") followed by us spending a couple of hours back in the pub before engaging in forbidden pastimes in the sack. Whoops!

Well, sadly...nothing. I have become socially inept in the past 20 years. I have absolutely no idea what to do, or how to do it, and no one to do it with. I don't know anyone.
I don't know how to be social anymore. I used to be VERY social, but I've lost all that.

Today, I drove to town to the library to check my email. I can check my email here at home. But I just wanted to be where there was people.
Sometimes I sit on the street in my car listening to music and watch people walk by.

Usually I just drive around all day wasting gas in search of "a life".
Either that, or I sit at home playing music, check my email, hitting the refresh button every few minutes.

I'm not trying to feel sorry for myself, I just wanted to know what OTHER people did on THEIR weekends.

I suggest a hobby, any hobby. Whatever strikes your fancy. There are so many things to do that you can't possibly fit them all in. Good luck.

Friday night: regularly scheduled jam night with my band, while Debra goes bowling with her league team. Stay up late and sleep luxuriously on up into the morning. Get up when my body's ready and make myself a good, filling breakfast at a leisurely pace. Wash clothes, vacuum and mop, mow the grass, go shopping, pay bills, catch up on reading and posting on this forum.

Saturday night: quite often, a date consisting of a meal at a nice restaurant, and dancing or a movie afterward.

Sometimes the whole weekend becomes a trip out of town to visit relatives or to go to a recreational area.

Tomorrow, the official word is that we're going to Scarborough Faire, the Dallas Renaissance Fair (where everybody dresses like knights and wenches and there's ale-quaffing and swordfighting).

About that social stuff, TRC... if you have a wife, just pick out somebody at work that you like, and invite him and his spouse over to your place for grilled steaks some evening. If you're single, then b'gosh, get in Yahoo Personals and answer some ads! It's how I met the last several ladies I've dated.

I'd love to go to the lake or see a movie or something, but it's just no fun going alone.

Ha! Anything that doesn't include the WTS is an improvement, I say!

When all my plans go thru, I go walking with a group Saturday morning at the beach and then out to breakfast. Then I tool over to the library on the way home.

Art class at 1:00-3 and then a movie with an art buddy.

Sundays, i often go to a movie or something with another work buddy.

However, lately some of my plans have fallen thru and i just catch up on my reading and gardening, etc.

This weekend, i've been under the weather and not doing anything except visiting with all of you on the JWDB!

Weekends are no different for me than weekdays, get up, think of sex, go to work, think about sex, go home, think about sex, take a cold shower, think about having sex, make dinner, watch tv, mind wanders back to sex, check email, go on this site, still thinking....

I'm just joking here, ok? I work sat./sun like 10 hr days, too busy to "think" about anything but professional matters, but then when I come home I'm usually so exhausted that I zone out and try to mentally re-fuel.

All work and no play makes Lara a dull girl.
