Are you people seriously trying to defend the doctrine while denouncing the leadership that created that doctrine?

Obviously not, and again obviously, my remark is not about what you are free to believe, but that your post is only your erroneous view. That is how I see it and I also showed you that similarities do not establish origins. I told you that similarly, Mikveh and Korban are similar to more ancient heathen rituals, but that does establish that because they are similar that they originated from them. Similarly, your post that Christian baptism originated from the pagans is nonsense. Regarding what you view as worthless, just wait until that fat lady sings and then you will know for sure, but until then you can believe what you like, but that is all it is, your belief and nothing more.

I'm saddened (but hardly surprised) to see the personal attacks levied against one another in this thread. I completely agree with Brother Jeramy, and I'm only posting this comment to let him know that he's not alone. There are many of us who are also aware of the Governing Body i.e. "the man of lawlessness" that resides in Jehovah's "temple". (2 Thess. 2:1-12; 1 Corinthians 3:17)

I don't intend to get involved in a debate here, as the lack of respect and common courtesy would make that a waste of my time and energy.

Again, Brother Jeramy, you are NOT alone. May Jehovah continue to bless your absolute faith in Him, as it NEVER leads to disappointment.

"Remember the word that I said to you, 'A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also." --John 15:20

Okay, that's just f**ked-up on way too many levels.

Usually, it's at least the other way around.

Brother Jeramy: It is telling because this form of casting of aspersions is the same tactic the Governing Body employs, namely they call people deluded, either by inference or at times directly, who do not see things their way or who do things contrary to their will.
So, then, what's the difference if the Governing Body does this or if former Jehovah's Witnesses do it?

The answer is simple. There is a huge imbalance of power between the two positions.

The Governing Body does it to take power away from the members and to feed the WTS' need for control. They abuse their power.

The exJWs do it to gain their personal power back. EXJWs are entitled to their own power.

    Big difference.

Comparing the two positions is comparing apples and oranges.
