    Simon you sound ridiculous.

You know that no ones means only blacks should be safe walking the streets... you are just trying to add some shock value.

If you get out of your car after you have been following someone then yes you should accept responsibility for what happens.

If your wife was being followed by a man in a truck at night that didn't identify himself are you aok with that? If she just decided to mace him once he got close would you be ok with that?

“There is evidence he hit his head and had a broken nose, neither of which was life threatening.”

    My question for EntirelyPossible:

How many times would you let a complete stranger—who just broke your nose—bang your head against pavement before you acted to defend your life?

    And your answer is: ________________

'chased him down' ... and you saw this? You should have told the prosecution - they woukd have used that I'm sure. Oh wait no, I remember now - you're not allowed to just make stuff up. Duh.

If GZ hadn't been there? That applies to TM as well ... in fact any criminal or victim.

Go tell all the women raped that "if only they hadn't been there wearing those clothes, they wouldn't be responsible for being raped". That is the same argument you are making.

One thing I've noticed: all the pro gun owners talk brave words but seem to be a little scared to use them. All talk, for show, but really scared I guess.

    EP:

he saw zero crime being committed and he chased someone down. GMs actions created the entire situation.

    false.

How do you know he chased someone down? What evidence do you have for that statement?

According to Zimmerman, which is corraborated by his calls, he had lost track of Martin when Martin returned.

If i pin someone to the ground and beat him in the head, what crime would i normally be charged after?

Assault, usually. Depends on the circumstances.

Why is that relevant? In all cases, you can say something like: If she hadnt walked into the park, my client wouldnt have jumped her.

Nope, you're mixing up two different concepts. GM specifically was following TM with a weapon and had, on the 911 call said TM was one of those "assholes that always gets away". Police found zero indication that TM was in the process of committing a crime. Even if he was, GM had no legal right to shoot him unless he was shooting TM to stop him him from killing or raping another person.

GM created the situation. GM was carrying a gun. He bears responsibility for creating the situation.

    Zimmerman violated no laws

    Sadly, no he did not.

    he violated no instructions

Technically correct. However, he was told that he did not need to do what was doing (he did not) and he had no reason to follow TM with a gun. The situation was 100% of his own making. He was determined to not let that asshole get away.

He had every right to do what he did. Thats in the court records.

And that's the worst part. The law, as it stands today in FL, allows someone to decide someone create the very situation in which they get their ass kicked and then shoot someone who started out avoiding the situation. GM is heard in the call to say that TM was running. TM was avoiding the situation. GM, by getting out of his car and ignoring the call that he did not need to follow him, created the very situation in which he was allowed to take another humans life and ruin his own. It's the logic of a snake eating it's own tail.

GM acted incredibly irresponsibly and now multiple lives are ruined.

Some mitigating facts involving this case that seemed to have gotten over looked by many.

    1. TM was not casing out houses or was seen on people's private property, he was walking on the side walk.

If he was seen on people's property this would have supported Zimmerman to take more intense and deliberate action.

    2. Zimmerman did not self identify himself to who he was and why he was looking closely at TM movement in the neighborhood.

    3. Something must have also happened to make TM run home after confronting Zimmerman at the first time when the two met eyes.

    4. Tm wasn't running home because he got caught doing something wrong he ran out his own personal safety.

All of these circumstances creates a situation where Zimmerman failed to act responsibly and perhaps respectfully toward

another private citizen who at the time was not committing an unlawfully act.

You cant expect chasing a guy who's in a flight or fight state, to not react in various ways .

The black hoody Tm was wearing at the time didn't help matters much, I myself have seen teenagers or young men walking in my

neighborhood wearing black hoodies and they do look up to trouble or no good as the say.

The question remains did Zimmerman commit an unlawful act himself in chasing after TM with no identification to whom he was

or even why he was chasing TM ?

Neighborhood watchers are not suppose to carry firearms when they are on duty watching over the activity in their neighborhood.

they do not have the legal authority to approach individuals who may be committing unlawful acts.

But since Zimmerman was training to be a police officer, he packed a gun and tried to play the law enforcer role.

If he just did what he was supposed do and watch where Tm was running to, which was his father's home and seen him enter

the home, p aused and comprehend clearly what was going on or correctly called the police and let them handle the situation to

what he saw, h e would have never got into an altercation with Tm.

If the police did come to look into the matter, they would have called on Tm father's home to see if everything was alright.

No one would had gotten shot and killed that night and Zimmerman would never have put himself into legal jeopardy, something

thats now going to hang onto him for the rest of his life.

    Sad story nevertheless .

I’m a licensed gun owner, and I believe any person without a criminal history and is of sound mind should be able to responsibly own a firearm if they wish.

What words do I seem a little scared to use?

soso: just to be clear then ...

You believe that just because someone is followed then even if tyhat oerson is walking away you have the right to follow them and attack them and even if you try to kill them, they have forfeit the right to defend themselves ... simply for 'following you'?

Wow. Good luck surviving the society you describe - it would be a bloodbath.

How do you know he chased someone down? What evidence do you have for that statement?

On the evening of February 26, 2012, Zimmerman observed Martin as he returned to the Twin Lakes housing community after having walked to a nearby convenience store.[86] At the time, Zimmerman was driving through the neighborhood on a personal errand.[15]

At approximately 7:09 PM,[Note 4] Zimmerman called the Sanford police non-emergency number to report what he considered a suspicious person in the Twin Lakes community.[88] Zimmerman stated, "We've had some break-ins in my neighborhood, and there's a real suspicious guy."[2] He described an unknown male "just walking around looking about" in the rain and said, "This guy looks like he is up to no good or he is on drugs or something."[89] Zimmerman reported that the person had his hand in his waistband and was walking around looking at homes.[90] On the recording, Zimmerman is heard saying, "these assholes, they always get away."[91][92]

About two minutes into the call, Zimmerman said, "he's running."[35] The dispatcher asked, "He's running? Which way is he running?"[93] The sound of a car door chime is heard, indicating Zimmerman opened his car door.[94] Zimmerman followed Martin, eventually losing sight of him.[35] The dispatcher asked Zimmerman if he was following him. When Zimmerman answered, "yeah," the dispatcher said, "We don't need you to do that." Zimmerman responded, "Okay."[95] Zimmerman asked that police call him upon their arrival so he could provide his location.[35] Zimmerman ended the call at 7:15 p.m.[35]

After Zimmerman ended his call with police, a violent encounter took place between Martin and Zimmerman, which ended when Zimmerman fatally shot Martin 70 yards (64 m) from the rear door of the townhouse where Martin was staying.[96][Note 5]

    GM created the situation.
