  Read Paul's letters rather than WT literature. He is not the man the Witnesses teach. His letters are about grace, not Law.

  Thats a lie, he tells a story how he circumcized timothy which is very jewish. I know your then going to reply that he says he is all things to all people, and tha t is the complete counterargument to this assertion. If he is a jew to jews, then he is about the law of moses.

  I already gave the example of his failure to make women and slaves equal= and deserving of the same freedoms as men. With that he fails as a good man in my eyes, and becomes just another of the ancient men with ancient superstitions and flaws.

  The Women being silent is in 1 Timothy (not by Paul at All lol) Paul's view of women was very high. Chloe seemed to run a church. Also in 1 Corinthians in the famous 'head-covering' chapter he says they have to wear a head covering WHEN THEY PROPHESY! Meaning preaching in church.

  Paul was ahead of his time to some degree. If Timothy was circuscised (probably wasn't) it was only because of his mother (assuming 2 Timothy has a historical core)

  Sorry i saw your previous comment about Acts, i just never thought you regarded as down right lies. I agree that 1 Tim was not written by Paul, but then we have the problem that there are so many lies its hard to know what to believe.

  Do you honestly believe they were prophecying ? Supposedly thousands of christians died because the Romans were killing them, and yet they couldnt prophecy and get away before the fact. That sounds utterly rediculous.

  Isnt P just being completely stupid here, with claims that are obviously lies. If anybody told you the same today, you would call them a liar. The only difference between them and P is 2000 years other than that they are just ordinary people.

  In what way was P ahead of his time ? He was blind to the evils of slavery. His only great achievement was faking that he was a messenger of God and decieving many. He doesnt sound that much different from the other televagelist fakes today.

  Is it honest to just make this up, when the only historical text that we have says the opposite ? YOu have absolutely no proof for one way or the other. This brings up another question, how did they know that Timothy wasnt circumsized ? Did men all drop their pants when they went to church in those days for inspection ? Were they all rooting or grabbing each other in church ?
