skeeter- I knew a few burned out teachers like the one you mentioned, somewhere along the way they lost faith in a kid's ability to turn the corner from being in a bad or broken family. How many kids will suffer in Detroit as the teachers and schools suffer along with the city's financial woes. The young woman that Treyvon was speaking to the night he was shot now has a mentor, I hope the best for her future, all it takes is one person caring for another.

Till's aggressors were also found not responsible (not guilty) by a court of law and a jury of their peers.

You are kidding. I hope you do not think that the Till trial was anything resembling true justice.

Emmett Till was from another more shameful time in US history but doesn't make the GZ verdict invalid.

    Clever one, you!

Emmett Till was tortured and murdered by evil men, an evil court, an evil State, and an evil country.

Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by someone he was beating the fuck out of.

Any comparison of the two is ridiculous on a level that I dare not try to describe.

I guess if I was having my head bashed into the concrete sidewalk I might go for a gun , if I had one.

For all GZ knew TM could have had a knife or another deadly weapon. The severity of his wounds are not the basis for defense. It was his fear for his life and I would have felt fear for my life too.

As a woman I would have run but men tend to not deal with things like women do.

Designs, I'm afraid Rachel's mentor will only help her while it's trendy. I hope not though because that poor thing needs all the help she can get.

I am not talking about the validity of the verdict; I am merely attempting to comment on Obama's visceral reaction to the cause. I think that is within the scope of the conversation.

So I guess OJ must be innocent too ... his black skin does qualify him as a sufferer of grave injustice after all.

I hear they will be opening the prison doors next Wednesday to let all the innocent people out.

Your are kidding - what does OJ have to do with this??? Stick to the discussion.
