They flutter behind you, your possible pasts
Some brighteyed and crazy, some frightened and lost
By the cold and religious, we were taken in hand
Shown how to feel good, and told to feel bad
Tongue tied and terrified, we learnt how to pray
Now our feelings run deep, and cold as the clay
And strung out behind us the banners and flags
Of our possible pasts lie in tatters and rags
[OK I didn't write this, but I wish I did]
Ironic Irony
You know, they call this humanity But why don't they just call it dead people walking? You know, they call this a mansion But why don't they just call it my future home in paradise! You know, they say I'm such an example But why doesn't everyone just live by the CDROM? You know, they say its great to be "in the truth" But why don't they just say "I'm too flipping scared of what might happen if I say otherwise." You know, they say you'll be unhappy if you go But why don't they just say we've got you so screwed up believing this bag of chestnuts that its going to take years to get you back to some kind of normalcy. You know, they say where else can I go? But I say I'll go and start afresh, the last 40 years have not been a failure, for this thing called ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.
Sorry
It wasn't by choice at the time that I left
My faith was taken as if by theft
An ambitious brother pursued my and took my peace
This led to my activity to pretty much cease.
The longer I was away the less I wanted to go
I began to question things, things i needed to know.
I started researching, I took to the bible to read
Slowly I saw real truth, I had planted a seed.
My eyes have opened and they can never be shut
Now I'm happy without an if, and or but.
I hope others can come to find what I have found
And break free from the falsehoods to which they are bound
There once was a lady named Grace
She had a very funny face
Wanted to die
when found out the LIE
Folks thought she was high
On Pot she was NOT
No man thought her hot
So she sat down to Rot
Now old as she is
She knows she is HIS!
Who might that Be?
I will give you the key!!
To open the door,
For the sick & the poor,
The meek & the mild,
even those who are wild.
Its Jesus !!!!!!!!!The door of the Ark ....No thats not a lark
A J-Dub who learned history...
Tried to square it with theology...
He coudn't, got jaded...
Eventually faded...
And his family's now happy and free.
