A poet I am not
But I'll give it a shot
In 1990 I swallowed a line
Just ahead is a perfect time
With pandas and lions and nobody sick
Man I must have been really, really thick
To believe all that trash and live by it is crazy
My thinking was dulled and my vision became hazy
But all of a sudden I began to wake up
No more will I drink from that poison cup
They can keep all the bullshit, and all of the hate
We're outta there now and boy it feels great!!

As far back as I can recall
I lived a life with back to wall
Running scared, trying to fly
Somewhere between the earth and sky.
From the darkened sky, a star did shine
With radiance sweet, and a promise divine
A lifetime of service, and the light shall be ours
But the star has faded, the sweetness soured.
All that is life will also pass
So I live it now and live it fast
Sure of foot, flying high
At home between the earth and sky.

I can give it a go
I was happy with no care in the world,
Not afraid of death or anything at all.
Along came these dimwits, changed everything for me
I then started to live life in fear
And death scared the life out of me.
Happiness now eluded me
Worldy people scared me
All i could think of was what jehovah thought of me
Will I survive or die, - done enough, - could never agree.
Could not see the wood for the trees
At last I broke the chains
Fought free of all the links
Now I am out the box
Giving happiness another shot
Life is full of meaning now
To Happiness I take a bow.
