What makes you think King david was any better than HItler ?
Both were psychopaths, who killed anyone and everyone. Both killed people based on racial views. At least H didnt give 200 foreskins for a wedding present.

"All authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God."
Does Paul prove this statement, or does he simply state it?

Isn't it a shame that ultimately this is what everythign comes down to in the minds of believers even when the whole concept contradicts scripture.

Jesus says the same, after all he encourages people to be obedient to all government paying their taxes multiple times. The story of J & Mary travelling is another example of extreme obedience. Even with a pregnant wife Joseph will do anything to pay his taxes.

Jesus didn't sound too overly enthusiastic about paying taxes. It sounds more like he paid the tax begrudgingly.
24 After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”
25 “Yes, he does,” he replied.
When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own children or from others?”
26 “From others,” Peter answered.
“Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. 27 “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
