I wonder if we "apostates" could make us of public service announcements.

I used to play them (PSAs) when I worked in programming at a small TV station. Lots of groups send in :30s and :60s and the station is required by the FCC to devote some small percentage of their air time (like 2-3% I recall) to these.
I would get lots from the LDS aka Mormon Church, ones on recycling, etc. I have seen the WT Society 30 second TV ads, they actually have done a few of them they are similar to the Mormon ones.
And yes any non-profit (or non-prophet lol) group can send them in and they might get played for free. I generally tossed all the lot except for the environmental and recycling ones.

That's weird! Never heard of that before...I did see a JW psa on TV about 5 years ago on very late one night, caught me off guard, thought it was so strange.
Wonder if they're testing something new. Do they actually think that would work? What 'worldly' person hears that ad and says hmmm I think I want to spend a summer weekend in an arena.

What I find interesting is this, The month leading upto these conventions we are inviting everyone (non witness's) by offering special invitations to attend. But what is one of the first announments you hear when the day starts. "No recordings of this convention are to be made available to the public".

What would stop the public from coming and making a recording? The convention is broadcast on a radio line and can be recorded by anyone with WTS permission. So is this new then? Recordings are available on www.jw.org.
*** km 4/10 p. 7 District Conventions—A Time for Joyful Worship ***
Recording: Recording devices should not be connected to the facility’s electric or sound system and may be used only in a way that does not disturb others.
*** km 5/99 p. 4 par. 13 1999 “God’s Prophetic Word” District Conventions ***
You may use cameras, camcorders, and audiocassette recorders at the convention. However, their placement or use should not block aisles, obstruct the view of others, or distract attention from the program. They must be self-contained—that is, not connected to the electrical or sound systems.

And you don't even have to go inside. I know someone that parked in the parking lot of the Convention and recorded the human apostates talk from his car over their closed-circuit radio broadcast.
