As as side point, can you provide some guidance as to how potential authors can get their work published. I am very interested in finding out the mechanics of this process.

It's a good time for me to say this though, now that you brought up the subject: I believe every last one of the folks on this board has a book in them.
I have read far too many good postings, intelligent comments and interesting stories and such to believe many of you couldn't write a book. I'm not saying everyone's book would be good, but I'm saying that everyones book would have good in it. I believe part of the reason we post here is to get the junk and the funk we have stored up in us off our chests with other like minded people. Well, let me tell you, writing it down, over and over again, and pouring over every word, over and over again, helps with that as well.
Personally, I didn't want to do it at first because I didn't have the emotional energy to dredge up and write down what I went through. My initial JWN postings were enough for me. But I started to reconsider and revisit those things and I started to think I had even more to say than my first initial postings.
So I admit it up front: my primary reason for writing my book was selfish - I needed to vent. I needed to face my past demons. I needed to heal. I was repressing some things and I needed to clear that crud out of my psyche.
But, as I was writing, I was also thinking: Boy, I sure hope this helps other people too. I got a glimpse of that when I posted on the board, that it could help people. I thought a book out in the open world could reach a bigger audience and maybe, just maybe help many poor souls feel better out there because they knew I went through the same exact stuff... and I came out OK. Heck, I might have even come out stronger for it.
To me, that would be the most important thing about all your future books.
