I have been brought up as a Jehovah witness and want to date this boy who isn't a Jehovah's Witness. We have talked about the trials we could go through and I was wondering because I am a unbaptised publisher could I date him without any consequences? -

Only if you want to be judged by every JW that you know, especially behind your back. It would probably thus strain any relations you have with any JWs. -

I'm not sure if u have to be baptized in order to be marked. I think they will give a marking talk for non-baptized publishers as well. This will just mean that people won't do things with u socially. -

if you go out in service then that is the only thing they can remove from you, but that would be a blessing as you dont want to be doing that stuff, right?
You may get spoken to in the back room but only if it becomes public knowledge or you are sleeping with him. Your parents if JWs could feel some heat on those issues too.
Go for it, leave this mind control cult behind.

Do leave it behind. Do your best in school. If you never get baptized you can escape when you are a little older. Be careful if you date. Don't let people see you. -

Welcome INDY98, you are starting out on a rocky road - thanks to the Org your family has committed to, and now wants you to commit in the same way!
When I was 16, I just told my mother that I didn't want to go back to the meetings. I was old enough to decide and I wasn't baptized, so I could just slip out without any problem.
You are almost in that position - not quite, though. The Elders will demand to interview you, and if you don't comply on anything, you will be marked and ultimately announced as being "no longer an unbaptized publisher".
At least this way, you will not be cut off from your family.
Start thinking now about whether you want your life controlled by the Body of Elders.

Dating the JW way and 'dating' the normally accepted way are 2 very totally different animals. Yes, as soon as you are found out, you will lose your publishing privileges and become 'marked' by them, bad association if you will. Are you up to this task?
Consider if the high is worth the pain, then proceed.

They will do what the post above said, but remember a very important thing, do not I repeat do not under any circumstances get baptised. This will allow you to play like your still maybe interested your parents will still most likely associate with you and you can move on with your life. If you get baptised you become a slave to the religion and the elders. Then if you leave your parents and all other family members will be expected to shun you. Wonderful religion isn't it. -

Consequences? Certainly. You could: get pregnant, get an STD, become married to a loser, become a victim of domestic violence. Oh, you mean congregation consequences! Yes. Lots. To avoid such consequences: a. Stop turning in FS reports and being an unbaptized publisher; b. Stop going to meetings; c. NEVER EVER GET BAPTIZED (sorry for yelling); and d. Make your escape from the cult as quickly and quietly as you can.
Enjoy. But guard against those STD/pregnancy thing-ies.

The answer is yup they can. You'll be (1)spoken to. (2) removed as a publisher (3) announced at the meeting you are no longer a publisher (4) marking talk given so everyone unofficially will know what your up to.
