The Problem With The Organization Exposing Their Former Beliefs To Their Current Ones

I realize some Witnesses will say how wonderful it is that the Governing Body has put into print how their understanding has changed over the years.

The sheep and goats, the faithful and discreet slave, the evil slave class, etc. are all viewed differently then originally understood.

The sad thing is that IF YOU questioned ANY current understanding, as explained through the Watchtower, or if you disagreed with it, you would be disfellowshipped!

Even if their understanding was totally in error, if anyone ever pointed it out, they were OUT!

The Governing Body just makes things up as they go along.

Of course, if you don't "wait on Jehovah", (like He's even involved), and you run ahead by disagreeing with an erroneus teaching, you are not "patient" and "self willed" and "proud".

I am most fascinated by the fact that the Governing Body is willing to acknowledge (tacitly) the fact that they have been reviling the Associated Bible Students ("Russellites") as the "Evil Slave Class" for decades... (Cf. 1 Cor. 5:11; 6:9,10)

    Exactly Min.

    No independant thought's allowed

If you had a flash of light that caused you to change your thoughts

before the GB did. Out you go

Think how many were disfellowshipped for doin' things

that are now allowed by the WTS

There is a fine line between questioning a belief ( I have done plenty of that to elders of more than one cong) and openly disagreeing - that might you dissed !

re themselves admitting past wrongs - eg, Wt 84 2/15 pp22/23

"....... held great expectations for the year 1914. As early as 1880, The Watch Tower had publicized the date as marking the end of the “appointed times of the nations,” or Gentile Times. (Luke 21:24; compare Authorized Version.) Would 1914 bring the end of Satan’s rulership and the long-awaited Millennial Reign of Christ Jesus?

As the date drew closer it became apparent that human expectations do not always coincide with Jehovah’s timetable. "

It is funny how the "spirit directed message becomes a human expectation after it has failed

It can work no other way when the GB wants to wield supreme authority.

Current teachings are always indisputable, above scrutiny and beyond questioning.

Only when exposed as the bovine residue the teaching was from the beginning does the GB retroactively admit they have limitations as humans.

Prior to the failure (or "new light" update) the GB retain demigod status.
