It's important to understand that deep interest in, as well as the study of science doesn't always bring one to the conclusion there is no diety. Scientists vary between atheism, agnosticism, deism, theism and spiritual. This spectrum of belief or non belief spans the varied fields of science. Science, in and of its self cannot disprove god(s). Know that whatever evidence you personally find for or against god(s), it will always come into question by someone or even several someones.

I think I was an atheist for a long time before I realised it.
Pretty much what I'm thinking now. . . I also think that what I admired about "spirituality" was "seeing below the surface". . . . But now I realize the depth you can go without beleif in the supernatural, and it's a far more fulfilling experience. -

Nothing scary about atheism to this American. I'm not an athiest. I have, in the past, teetered between atheism and agnosticism. It's one of the many experiences of human beings and nothing to be afraid of.

I'd recommend a veiwing of Carl Sagan's 'Cosmos' to anyone perhaps confused or whatnot. It's incredibly beautiful and Carl's such a nice guy.

Thank you so much! I am about past my transition from devout JW and am ascending to an undoubting atheist. This may help me feel better about giving up my invisible sky daddy.
