Phizzy Your on a roll. Never mind the speed limit. push the pedal through the floor

ADCMS, did you say the words " Time is at hand " ?

LOL, The WTS got one thing right. They do follow the things in the Bible

they fit the description of a false prophet to a " T "

    Luke 21:8

" Look out that you are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, I am he, and, the due time has approached. Do not go after them."______NWT

Matt 24v5 "For many will come on the basis of my name, saying "I am the Christ", and will mislead many."

or put another way, as Christ means Anointed :

"For many will come saying "We are the Anointed", and will mislead many".

The 2010 DVD "Faith In Action" mentions on two (2) occasions that the Bible Students looked forward to 1914 as the year that Jesus would take the throne decades in advance... of course, we now know this is completely false as they had been taught that Jesus took the throne in 1874 and it wasn't until the late '20s or early '30s that Rutherford changed 1874 to 1914.

But the best quote in this DVD is this precious gem from Anthony Morris the Turd:

"The fact that they (the Bible Students) were able to pinpoint that year (1914) is just phenomenal".

Of course the Bible Students didn't "pinpoint" anything... They merely followed Russell who copied the Gentile Times (7 X 360 = 2,520) calculation from Barbour who copied it from Miller who copied it from a book written by John Aquila Brown in 1823 called "The Even Tide"...

If I had only known all of this 20 years ago... oh well...

I mentioned some of this to my wife after bringing up the subject of the statement about blindly following direction from the Nov 15 WT and she completely dismissed it as being unimportant. Apparently it's of no consequence that doctrine has changed so much over time. All of this was years ago - waaaay before we were even born. Whatever has changed over the past 10-20 years does not matter - it's the light getting brighter. Of course things are going to change.

I love my wife to bits and sometimes I think she is on the cusp of really seeing things for what they are but this congnotive dissonance is depressing.

I'd love lock her in a room and tell her not to come out until she's read every page on jwfacts.com.

    Thanks for posting Phizzy,

One possible error here in the aftermath section. Shouldn't it read 1874, not 1878

Year for Prediction to Occur: 1914 or 1915 (October)

Expectation: Earthly Jerusalem will be restored / Time of trouble ends / Gentile Times end / image of Dan 2 to be struck on the feet / Jews forgiven by God / end of 40 year harvest
    Proposed by: C.T. Russell
    Faith: Bible Student
Based on: Seven times of Dan 7 = 2520 years (as specified by William Miller) commenced 606 B.C.E. / measurements of the Great Pyramid of Giza
What Happened: Nothing (although a world war did begin 2 months earlier)
Aftermath: 1878 was maintained as the year of invisible presence until the mid-1920's and then this was shifted to the failed year of 1914

C T Russell who was the head editorial writer for the WTS. back in the late 1800's was nothing more than a amateurish

bible theologian who was more indulgent in plagiarizing other bible theologians ideologies.

He took what was capable of being viable for publishing and put what he found into his articles

of Zion's Watchtower. Decades prior to 1914, Russell prophesied that Armageddon what come about in that year.

Of course the WTS. would never reveal what Russell was actually teaching, for obvious reasons.

They just say he was preaching the "Truth".

Nevertheless unknowing to him he did set in place what would be the marketing agenda for the WTS. the decades to follow,

    Armageddon soon , Armageddon soon.

Could you imagine if the chance made about 1914 teaching happened during the time of the internet?

"Yeah so 1914 wasn't the start of the great tribulation... it was... it was the start of the last days. Yeah! That's the ticket!"

"Well where is Jesus? You said he was going to return in 1914."

"Yeah he did return... but it was invisibly. Yeah you can't see him. He's totally there though."

of course, we now know this is completely false as they had been taught that Jesus took the throne in 1874 and it wasn't until the late '20s or early '30s that Rutherford changed 1874 to 1914.

Good point Calebs Airplane, goes to show some of the devious lying this religious publishing house creates to form

that wholesome spiritual paradise selectively chosen by god.

Always lying, always juggling facts and statements to support themselves.

As its shown again and again there is nothing this organization will or would stop from doing.
