WTS. going back to C T Russel was about creating propagating BULLSHIT with the core intent of proliferating the organization's published literature.

The many obviously failed predictions not coming true over the years has now produced an acknowledgment by the WTS. heads that

well we're just imperfect men.

But since they're sitting on a billion dollars of wealth and there's is still an assertive amount of power as being the WTS. heads we'll stay .

I agree that current JW eschatology holds that ONLY JWs will survive Armageddon, but perhaps God could "SOFTEN" many hearts at the last-minute to allow all these elderly heathens to repent and become JWs to avoid destruction (AND fulfill the prophecy)

The JW view of salvation did not become exclusivistic until the Great Crowd doctrine was introduced roughly a decade later in 1935. At the time (1921 - 1925) it was thought that many millions of "Nominal Christians" would survive. But again, Rutherford was not speaking about babies. A 25 year old in 1925 would be 113 today.

I was taught that those who were 10 or 13 years old in 1914, would not pass away until "all things occur" including armageddon. So if you were 13 in 1914 you will be 112 this year. If you were 10 in 1914 you will be 109 this year. How many people are either 112 or 109? Armageddon will come before they die! It is coming soon! Really soon!

My grandmother and father were among the "millions" who were believers at the time of Rutherfords prophecy. They are long dead. In fact, grandma died BEFORE I was born. Those people alive at that time are mostly all dead. period

Thanks for everyone's comments.

I just had a moment of "wait... what if?" But thanks to you all who squashed my doubt. Definitely "millions now living will never die"... no matter how you slice or dice it... is now an utterly, 100% unfulfilled prophecy/prediction. There is no way that, even if "big A" would come right now, that this could be turned true. JW apologists have absolutely no exit out of this one.

For 1914 "THIS generation" to be in the same category as the 1925 one, we will assume two things:

1. Let's take the 1904 birth date, you had to be 10 to be included in the 1914 generation. This means you are at least 109 years old.

2. All of them have to die. Let's see the possibilities (theoretical! Just a musing)... that this prophecy/prediction could still be true.

There are 60 people confirmed around the world that are over 110. It is estimated that from 300-450 people in the world are actually over 110. Only 1 person since 1871 (the list in the Wikipedia article I get my data from) has lived to be over 120. Jeanne Calment lived to 122 years. In this time (from 1871 to 2013), there have been approximately 16 billion people born.

So we have the following chances that someone born in 1904 is still alive by 2014 to be, maximum 1 in 36 million, by 2019 1 in 320 million, to 2024 1 in 8 billion.
