  i was working at the venue and some of our stewards spent time with the family on the saturday afternoon..the boy himself was bi-polar and had managed to elude the family before leaving the premises and walking along the track..there will no doubt be many folk who will now be asking themselves how did this happen but the fact is the boy seemed intent on doing this and in those circumstances there is only so much others can do..it is a tragic incident involving someone who was mentally ill..and is repeated the whole world over by people of all races religions backgrounds.

  So true, tijkmo. It is perhaps understandable that we might prematurely cast this as an instance of Watchtower-provoked death, but there is absolutely no evidence of that. People who suffer from bi-polar are vulnerable to rash acts of self-harm and sadly often leave behind family who blame themselves for not noticing small changes in behaviour that only become obvious in hindsight. I feel for this family and the loss of their son, brother and grandson.

  Yeah, any family who has a young person struggling with BPD or schizophrenia should think long and hard before exposing them to religious ideology that uses a fear of Satan to manipulate its members. (It would be a different matter if it were a "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!" message of the Unitarians, but a Doomsday Cult like the JWs, preaching coming Armageddon with billions dying? The insanity is exposing such a person to Ground Zero of a Convention.)

  How extremely stoopid (sic) and foolish to expose someone when they're already struggling in issues of separating fantasy from reality, forcing them to deal with added baggage that is even quite stressful for adults, and even intentionally DESIGNED to create stress and fear.
